Action Hotels has elevated Samira Khrichfa to Cluster General Manager, placing her in charge of both Novotel Bur Dubai and ibis Styles Sharjah. The move consolidates leadership across two distinct UAE markets, with Khrichfa tasked to sharpen commercial performance and guest experience at each property.

Khrichfa brings more than two decades of hospitality leadership in the Emirates, including prior service as General Manager of Novotel Bur Dubai. Her new remit spans operations, sales, marketing, and revenue strategy, with an emphasis on building stronger links between Dubai's corporate and medical travel segments and Sharjah's cultural and leisure appeal.

Service innovation and personalisation at the core

In her new role, Khrichfa will prioritise service innovation and personalisation, introducing dynamic guest touchpoints that respond to shifting traveller expectations. The strategy aims to capture emerging demand in corporate, leisure, and medical tourism, while also fostering talent development through cross-property mobility and team collaboration.

“I am excited to lead two properties that serve complementary travel flows,” said Khrichfa. “By aligning our teams and strategies, we can deliver more seamless experiences for guests moving between Dubai and Sharjah.”

The appointment comes as Dubai's hospitality sector continues to expand, with events like Arabian Travel Market growing 16% as Gulf carriers restore networks. Sharjah, meanwhile, has been positioning itself as a cultural and family-friendly destination, and the ibis Styles brand there targets value-conscious travellers.

Khrichfa's background includes leadership roles with Starwood, Shangri-La, and Dusit International. She has also opened four properties in the UAE, giving her hands-on experience in launching and scaling hotel operations.

Industry observers note that cluster management is becoming more common in the region as operators seek efficiency and cross-selling opportunities. The pairing of a Novotel in Bur Dubai with an ibis Styles in Sharjah allows Action Hotels to serve both business and leisure demand across the two emirates.

Dubai's medical tourism sector has been growing, with hospitals and clinics attracting patients from across the region and beyond. Novotel Bur Dubai's location near healthcare facilities positions it well for this segment. Sharjah's tourism push, including attractions like the Dubai Miracle Garden (though technically in Dubai, it draws visitors from Sharjah), benefits from the ibis Styles property's accessibility.

Khrichfa's appointment also signals a focus on talent development. By encouraging movement between the two hotels, she aims to build a more versatile workforce and improve retention in a competitive labour market.

Action Hotels, which operates a portfolio of midscale and economy properties across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, has been refining its management structure to drive performance. The cluster model allows for shared resources and coordinated sales efforts, which can be particularly effective in adjacent emirates.

With her extensive experience and clear strategic priorities, Khrichfa is expected to strengthen both properties' market positions. Her leadership will be closely watched as Dubai and Sharjah continue to evolve as complementary travel destinations.
