Sayaji Hotels has expanded its Gujarat portfolio with the opening of Enrise by Sayaji in Somnath, marking the group's entry into this prominent pilgrimage and tourism destination. Located on the Junagadh-Somnath Highway, the property is positioned to capture the steady flow of visitors drawn to the Shree Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple and the region's cultural heritage.

Property details and amenities

The hotel comprises 59 rooms, ranging from Deluxe Rooms to a Grand Suite, designed to accommodate a mix of pilgrims, leisure travellers, families, and corporate clients. Dining options include Momentt, a 160-cover multi-cuisine restaurant intended to serve both in-house guests and walk-in visitors.

For events and gatherings, Enrise by Sayaji Somnath features three banquet venues: Jewel, Crystal, and Vatika. The largest, Vatika, can host up to 1,000 guests, making it suitable for weddings, conferences, and other large-scale functions. This MICE capacity is expected to appeal to corporate planners seeking a venue with spiritual and coastal surroundings.

Strategic location and market positioning

The hotel's location on the Junagadh-Somnath Highway provides convenient access for travellers arriving by road, with major transport links nearby. This accessibility is a key selling point for both domestic tourists and business travellers, enhancing the property's appeal beyond the religious tourism segment.

Rajendra Joshi, Associate General Manager of Sayaji Hotels, commented: “The launch of Enrise by Sayaji, Somnath is an important milestone for Sayaji Hotels as we continue to expand our presence across Gujarat.” The statement underscores the group's strategy to strengthen its footprint in the state, which has seen growing tourism infrastructure investment.

Ramshibhai Kamaliya, Managing Director of The Divine Resort, which operates the property, expressed personal commitment to the project, aiming to create a welcoming environment for all visitors to Somnath. His involvement highlights the collaborative nature of the venture, blending local expertise with Sayaji's operational standards.

Broader industry context

The opening comes as hospitality groups increasingly target secondary and pilgrimage cities in India, where demand for quality accommodation is rising. Somnath, already a major spiritual centre, is also benefiting from improved connectivity and government initiatives promoting religious tourism circuits.

Sayaji Hotels, known for its business and leisure properties across central and western India, has been actively expanding its mid-market and upscale offerings. The Enrise brand is positioned as a contemporary, accessible option, and this debut in Somnath is likely to be followed by further launches in similar destinations.

For travel agents and tour operators, the new property adds a reliable option for clients visiting Gujarat's heritage trail, which includes Somnath, Junagadh, and the Gir forest region. The hotel's banquet facilities also open opportunities for wedding and event planners seeking a venue with a spiritual backdrop.

As the hospitality sector continues to recover and adapt to shifting traveller preferences, properties like Enrise by Sayaji Somnath represent a bet on the long-term growth of domestic tourism in India. The combination of modern amenities and traditional hospitality is a formula that many chains are replicating, but the specific focus on pilgrimage traffic gives this property a distinct edge.

With this launch, Sayaji Hotels reinforces its presence in Gujarat, a state that has become a hub for both business and leisure travel. The group's ability to cater to diverse segments—from pilgrims to corporate delegates—will be tested as the property ramps up operations.
