Siam Seaplane has inaugurated a significantly expanded operational hub at Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) in Bangkok, positioning itself for a broader role in Thailand's premium aviation sector. The new facility, located in Terminal 1, will function as the company's central command center, overseeing flight operations, guest services, and strategic network development.
The expansion lays the groundwork for what the company describes as Thailand's first commercial amphibious seaplane network, aimed at connecting luxury travelers to remote waterfront resorts and marinas. Siam Seaplane plans to launch a last-mile mobility network across two primary regions: the Andaman Network in Southern Thailand and the Bangkok Hub Network. These routes are designed to significantly reduce travel times to exclusive destinations that are currently difficult to reach by road or conventional air travel.
Later this year, the company will open a new operational hub in Krabi to support the Andaman Network. This base will serve as a key node for flights to islands and coastal resorts in the Andaman Sea, complementing the Bangkok hub.
Commitment to Premium Aviation Ecosystem
Dennis Keller, Group CEO of Seaplane Asia Group, emphasized the strategic importance of the new hub. “Our new operational hub represents far more than a new office. It reflects our long-term commitment to actively contribute to the growth of a premium aviation ecosystem across Southeast Asia,” Keller said.
The company also marked a milestone with the certification of Thai pilots in internationally recognized Seaplane Rating standards. Narawut Ngamdee, Head of Flight Operations, commented, “Our Thai pilot’s new seaplane certification is not only a proud achievement for our team but also an important milestone for the future of seaplane aviation in the country.”
Siam Seaplane, which has been operating since 2019, offers premium seaplane services that provide seamless access to Thailand's waterfront resorts and marinas. The company's expansion aligns with broader trends in luxury travel and regional connectivity, as seen in recent developments such as TransNusa adding Jakarta–Bangkok flights and Vietnam accelerating airport expansion to ease gridlock and sustain tourism growth.
The new hub at Don Mueang is expected to enhance operational efficiency and support the company's growth plans, which include expanding its fleet and route network. With the Andaman Network and Krabi base, Siam Seaplane aims to capture a larger share of the luxury travel market in Thailand, offering travelers a unique and efficient way to explore the country's most remote and beautiful destinations.
