WestJet Vacations has broadened its Caribbean roster with the addition of Royalton Vessence Barbados, an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort situated on the island's Platinum Coast. The move gives Canadian travellers a new upscale, adults-only option in a market where demand for premium all-inclusive experiences continues to climb.

The property, located in Holetown, comprises 220 rooms and suites, including swim-out categories and Diamond Club accommodations. Guests have access to 13 dining venues spanning French, Asian fusion, Italian, Indian, Mexican, and Caribbean-inspired cuisines, along with four bars—among them a swim-up bar and a rooftop Diamond Club lounge. Two pools are on site, one reserved exclusively for Diamond Club guests.

Beyond the beach: amenities and experiences

Recreation options include non-motorised water sports, fitness classes, and wellness programming. The Royal Spa offers massages, beauty treatments, and a hydrotherapy circuit for an additional fee. Evening entertainment features daily activities, shows, and a late-night swim experience. Round-the-clock room service and inclusive dining and beverages round out the offering.

Positioned roughly 35 minutes from Grantley Adams International Airport, the resort also serves as a base for exploring Barbados beyond the property. WestJet Vacations said the addition reflects its strategy of curating resorts that align with Canadian travellers' preferences for upscale, hassle-free getaways.

For travel advisors, the new inventory expands options for clients seeking adults-only luxury in the Caribbean. The property joins WestJet Vacations' broader Caribbean portfolio, which includes destinations such as Jamaica, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. As the airline's vacation arm continues to grow, it is also keeping pace with broader industry trends—such as the expansion of wellness-focused resort offerings seen elsewhere in the luxury segment.

Royalton Vessence Barbados is part of Marriott Bonvoy's Autograph Collection, giving loyalty members the chance to earn and redeem points. The resort's emphasis on adults-only, all-inclusive service positions it to compete with established brands in the region, including Sandals and Secrets.

WestJet Vacations' move comes as Canadian demand for Caribbean travel remains robust, with carriers and tour operators adding capacity and new product. The company has not disclosed booking volumes or pricing details, but the addition signals confidence in the segment's sustained appeal.

For agents, the key selling points are the resort's location on the Platinum Coast—known for its calm waters and upscale vibe—and its range of inclusions, which can simplify packaging for clients. The property's proximity to the airport also reduces transfer time, a factor that often matters to travellers.

As the travel industry continues to evolve, WestJet Vacations' expansion reflects a broader push among tour operators to differentiate through curated, high-end inventory. Whether this translates into increased market share in the competitive Caribbean corridor remains to be seen, but the addition gives the company a stronger foothold in the luxury all-inclusive space.
