Agoda and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) have renewed their strategic partnership with a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), deepening a collaboration that began in 2022 and was first renewed in 2024. The agreement, signed by Agoda CEO Omri Morgenshtern and STB Chief Executive Melissa Ow, aims to leverage technology and innovation to bolster Singapore's tourism sector.

Four pillars of collaboration

The expanded partnership now spans four key areas: joint marketing, data strategy and insights, thought leadership and innovation, and technology collaboration. A central focus is the use of artificial intelligence to deliver personalised travel recommendations for Singapore, enhancing the visitor experience while supporting the destination's competitive edge.

Under the MOU, Agoda and STB will also work on capability-building initiatives for tourism stakeholders, including data science training, AI upskilling, and experience development. These efforts are designed to help Singapore's tourism ecosystem adapt to evolving traveller expectations and technological shifts.

Earlier this year, the two organisations launched a marketing campaign aimed at boosting demand for Singapore amid global travel disruptions. The campaign saw strong participation from local hotel partners and delivered promising results, underscoring the value of the partnership in driving recovery and growth.

"The renewed collaboration presents the opportunity to tap on Agoda's platform reach, traveller insights, and technology capabilities to strengthen Singapore's destination appeal in the digital space," said Melissa Ow.

Omri Morgenshtern added: "We're excited to bring our AI and analytics capabilities to this partnership, enabling STB to reach travellers more precisely whilst supporting the innovation priorities that benefit the entire Singapore tourism ecosystem."

The partnership builds on Agoda's broader push into travel technology, including recent initiatives such as the unified Partner Portal for hoteliers and its collaboration with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council on sustainable tourism training. These efforts reflect Agoda's commitment to equipping industry partners with digital tools and insights.

For STB, the renewed MOU aligns with its strategy to position Singapore as a leading digital-first destination. By tapping into Agoda's platform data and AI capabilities, the board aims to refine marketing strategies and deliver more engaging experiences to international visitors.

The expanded collaboration is expected to benefit a wide range of stakeholders, from hotels and attractions to tour operators and travel agents, by providing them with actionable insights and innovative solutions. It also signals a continued emphasis on technology as a driver of tourism competitiveness in the Asia-Pacific region.

As the partnership evolves, both parties will explore new ways to integrate AI into the traveller journey, from pre-trip inspiration to on-the-ground recommendations. The focus on data-driven decision-making is set to enhance Singapore's ability to attract high-value segments, including business travellers and MICE groups.

With the MOU now extended through 2027, Agoda and STB are poised to deepen their collaboration, ensuring that Singapore remains at the forefront of tourism innovation in a rapidly changing global landscape.
