flydubai has reinstated nonstop service between Dubai International (DXB) and Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD), effective 31 July. The carrier will operate three weekly rotations initially, then ramp up to a daily frequency from 25 October 2026, aligning with peak autumn-winter travel demand.

The return of this route re-establishes a critical air link between the United Arab Emirates and Hungary, serving leisure, business, and VFR (Visiting Friends & Relatives) segments. It underscores flydubai’s deepening commitment to Central and Eastern Europe, a region where the airline has steadily expanded since launching Budapest services in 2021.

Strategic growth in Central Europe

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said: “The resumption of our Budapest service reaffirms our long-term investment in Hungary and reflects the strong economic and cultural ties between our two nations.” The airline’s network now includes multiple points in the region, complementing its broader Middle East and Asia footprint.

The Budapest flights are operated under a codeshare partnership with Emirates, enabling seamless single-ticket itineraries and through-checked baggage. Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, noted: “As we approach the busy autumn-winter travel season, this service creates valuable new commercial and tourism opportunities across both markets.”

flydubai deploys its modern Boeing 737 fleet on the route. Business Class features lie-flat seats and premium dining, while Economy Class offers ergonomic seating and a varied meal service. The inflight entertainment system provides hundreds of hours of content.

Fares start at $813 (AED 2,987) in Economy and $4,243 (AED 15,585) in Business Class for return journeys from Dubai. Bookings are available via flydubai.com and through travel partners.

The Dubai-based carrier has been actively expanding its European network. Earlier this year, it launched daily Aleppo service and doubled Bangkok capacity with a second daily flight to Don Mueang. The Budapest resumption adds another spoke to its growing map.

Industry observers note that flydubai’s strategy of pairing with Emirates on codeshare routes gives it a competitive edge in capturing both point-to-point and connecting traffic. The Budapest link is expected to benefit Hungarian tourism and trade, as well as provide UAE-based travelers with easier access to Central Europe.
