Marriott International has expanded its presence in southern Thailand with the debut of the Four Points by Sheraton brand in Krabi. The newly opened Four Points by Sheraton Krabi Ao Nang Beach Resort brings 173 guest rooms to the popular Ao Nang district, placing guests within walking distance of Nopparat Thara Beach and the Andaman Sea's dramatic limestone karsts.
The property marks the first Four Points by Sheraton resort in Krabi, adding a midscale-plus option to a destination that has traditionally been dominated by luxury and boutique properties. It also strengthens Marriott Bonvoy's footprint in a province that welcomed a record number of international arrivals in 2024, driven largely by direct flights from Europe and Northeast Asia.
Designed for families and leisure travellers
The resort's accommodation mix includes pool-access rooms and family rooms with bunk beds, catering to the growing demand for multi-generational travel in Thailand. On-site facilities include a lagoon pool, a separate children's pool, and one of the largest kids' clubs in the Ao Nang area, a key selling point for family-focused tour operators and travel agents.
Dining options span an all-day restaurant with sea views and three bars, including the brand's signature Best Brews® programme, which showcases local Thai craft beers. The resort also operates a 24-hour fitness centre and a dedicated Muay Thai training area, tapping into the region's fitness and wellness travel trends.
Brad Edman, Marriott International's regional vice president for Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, highlighted Krabi's natural appeal in a statement. “The debut of Four Points by Sheraton in Krabi will provide an accessible and convenient new option for travellers, including families, friends, and couples,” he said.
Kritchanut Phramthong, multi-property general manager, welcomed the opening, adding: “Krabi is a dream destination, and we look forward to welcoming travellers of all ages.”
The property's location in Ao Nang gives guests easy access to longtail boat services to Railay Beach, the Phi Phi Islands, and other Andaman Sea attractions, making it a practical base for excursion-heavy itineraries. For agents building Thailand packages, the resort offers a reliable midscale option in a market where inventory at this price point remains limited.
Krabi's tourism infrastructure has been expanding in recent years, with new international flight connections and improved road links from Phuket and Khao Lak. The province's appeal is also being bolstered by cultural events, such as Thailand's Royal Barge Procession set for November 2026, which is expected to draw additional visitors to the region.
Marriott's move into Krabi with Four Points follows a broader strategy of introducing its select-service and resort brands to secondary Thai destinations. The company already operates several properties in Phuket, Samui, and Bangkok, and this opening adds a new node to its southern Thailand network.
For travel advisors, the resort's family-friendly amenities and direct beach access make it a straightforward recommendation for clients seeking a balance of convenience and value. The inclusion of local craft beers in the Best Brews programme also gives the property a distinct identity that can be highlighted in marketing materials.
As Krabi continues to compete with Phuket and other Andaman destinations for international arrivals, the addition of a globally recognised midscale brand is likely to broaden the destination's appeal to a wider demographic, including first-time visitors to Thailand and repeat travellers looking for a more relaxed base.
