Jet2 is significantly expanding its Summer 27 schedule from Bournemouth Airport and London Stansted, adding three exclusive routes from the former and a new Jersey service from the latter. The UK's largest tour operator and third-largest airline is also tripling its capacity to Jersey, responding to what CEO Steve Heapy describes as "enormous demand" from both customers and travel agents.
Bournemouth gains three exclusive routes
From Bournemouth, Jet2 will operate twice-weekly flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle, weekly Saturday departures to Jersey, and weekly Wednesday flights to Verona. These three routes are exclusive to Jet2 from Bournemouth, giving the airport its largest-ever summer programme with 22 destinations and over 320,000 seats — an 8% increase compared to Summer 26. The Verona service is particularly notable for agents selling Italian leisure travel, while the Paris link opens up city-break and onward connections via the French capital.
Stansted adds Jersey, total routes reach 55
At London Stansted, Jet2 will introduce a three-times-weekly service to Jersey, bringing the airport's total route count to 55 and available seats to more than 2.4 million for Summer 27. The new Stansted-Jersey route complements existing services from other UK bases and gives agents in the East of England and London a direct option for clients seeking Channel Island holidays.
Jersey itself benefits from the two new routes — from Bournemouth and Stansted — lifting the total number of Jet2 routes serving the island to eight. Capacity will reach nearly 155,000 seats, a threefold increase versus the previous summer. This expansion aligns with broader trends in UK regional aviation, where carriers like WestJet adding sun routes and other LCCs are deepening their regional networks.
CEO cites strong demand and agent feedback
Heapy said: "We are seeing enormous demand for our award-winning flights and holidays, so we are delighted to be expanding our Summer 27 programmes. The addition of these brand-new and exclusive routes gives customers even more choice and flexibility." The statement underscores Jet2's strategy of using regional airports to capture leisure traffic that might otherwise drive to larger hubs.
For travel agents, the expanded programme means more inventory to sell across short-haul European destinations, particularly in France, Italy and the Channel Islands. Jet2's package holiday model — combining flights, accommodation and transfers — remains a key differentiator in the UK outbound market, especially for families and groups.
The Bournemouth-Verona route, in particular, could appeal to agents selling Italian lake and city breaks, while the Bournemouth-Paris service offers a direct alternative to Eurostar or connecting flights via London. Jersey, meanwhile, is a perennial favourite for British holidaymakers seeking a quick getaway without leaving the British Isles.
Jet2's expansion comes as the wider aviation sector sees premium travel surging and regional airports vying for carrier attention. The airline's decision to triple Jersey capacity suggests confidence in sustained demand for the island, which has invested in tourism infrastructure and marketing in recent years.
Bookings for Summer 27 are now open via Jet2's trade portal and consumer website. Agents are advised to check commission structures and dynamic packaging options, as Jet2 continues to refine its B2B offering alongside the consumer-facing expansion.
