Leisure Hotels Group (LHG), a prominent experiential resort chain in North India, has launched Samsara Resort in Mussoorie, expanding its Uttarakhand footprint to 15 properties. The new luxury boutique mountain retreat is situated on a 2-acre hillside and offers 21 accommodations, including exclusive suites, experiential mushroom tents, and glamping domes, all with panoramic views of the Himalayas. Select domes feature private Jacuzzis, while the resort also provides landscaped lawns and family-friendly recreation spaces.

Strategic Expansion in Uttarakhand

Vibhas Prasad, Director of Leisure Hotels Group, stated, “Samsara Hill Resort reflects our continued commitment to expanding experiential hospitality offerings across Uttarakhand’s most iconic destinations.” The opening strengthens LHG's presence in the state, which already includes properties in destinations such as Rishikesh, Jim Corbett, and Nainital. Mussoorie, often called the Queen of Hills, is known for its natural beauty and colonial-era charm, making it a popular choice for leisure travellers.

The resort's culinary programme draws from the rich traditions of the Garhwal region, featuring an all-day dining menu with authentic regional recipes and global favourites, prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Guests can also enjoy a curated programme of experiences, including nature walks, guided heritage explorations, and destination-led excursions.

Manav Gupta, Promoter of Samsara Resort, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with LHG, saying, “Samsara was envisioned as a sanctuary where guests can reconnect with nature whilst enjoying thoughtful luxury amidst the mountains.” The opening of the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway is expected to enhance accessibility, making Mussoorie an even more attractive destination for travellers.

This launch comes amid broader trends in experiential travel, where properties like Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort have also expanded with community-rooted offerings. Similarly, Wyndham Hua Hin Pranburi has launched nature-focused packages, reflecting a growing demand for immersive, nature-based hospitality.

For travel professionals, the Samsara Resort represents a new option in the luxury mountain segment, particularly for agents and tour operators catering to clients seeking experiential stays in the Himalayas. The property's mix of traditional suites and glamping accommodations also appeals to the rising trend of generational travel shifts, where younger tourists favour flexible, experience-rich itineraries over rigid group tours.

Leisure Hotels Group continues to position itself as a key player in North India's experiential hospitality market, with Samsara Resort adding a distinctive mountain retreat to its portfolio. The property is now open for bookings, with rates and packages available through the group's website and partner channels.
