Meliá Hotels & Resorts has expanded its Vietnam footprint with the debut of Meliá Aurea Nha Trang, an upper-upscale oceanfront property that opened on 12 August 2026. Situated beside the all-villa Gran Meliá hideaway Villa Le Corail, the new resort brings a more accessible interpretation of the Meliá lifestyle to central Vietnam, targeting both leisure and business travellers seeking a coastal escape.

The resort is located 15 minutes from Nha Trang’s city centre, yet its setting between Turtle Island and Fairy Mountain offers a sense of seclusion. Guests can explore the Hon Mun Marine Protected Area for snorkelling, visit the ancient Po Nagar Tower, or picnic on Hòn Chồng and Hang Heo beaches. Cam Ranh International Airport is 48 kilometres away, making the property convenient for international arrivals.

Mediterranean design meets Vietnamese craft

All 207 rooms and suites feature private balconies, open-plan interiors, and abundant natural light, with most offering ocean views. The design balances contemporary style with local touches, including an on-site herb garden and interiors shaped by regional craftsmanship. Meliá’s signature The Level experience provides enhanced privacy with exclusive lounge access, private check-in, concierge service, afternoon tea, and all-day refreshments.

Dining spans three venues. Ciao Chào, the all-day restaurant, merges Italian culinary techniques with Vietnamese rice-based traditions, featuring wood-fired pizza ovens, homemade pasta, roving chef trolleys, and fresh local seafood. Its open-air terrace extends the experience from day to night. Boreal, in the lobby, is a multicultural gathering spot inspired by the northern lights, serving coffee, cocktails, and conversation. O’LULA Pool Club offers a playful yet sophisticated atmosphere by the water, with coastal dishes and refreshing drinks.

Wellness and family amenities

Wellbeing is integrated into daily life at the resort, with direct beach access, coastal walking paths, swimming and snorkelling opportunities, and a fully equipped fitness centre. YHI Spa draws on the grounding energy of the earth and Champa heritage rituals to create a holistic seaside sanctuary. For families, Kidsdom Club includes a dedicated children’s pool and outdoor spaces, making it easy for parents to relax while children are entertained.

The opening reinforces Meliá Hotels International’s position as one of the largest international hotel groups in Vietnam, with 22 properties currently operating and five more slated to open over the next two to three years. This expansion aligns with broader trends in the region, as Vietnam continues to attract branded residences and hospitality investment, as noted in Vietnam's rise in branded residences.

For travel professionals, Meliá Aurea Nha Trang offers a new option for clients seeking a blend of Mediterranean service and Vietnamese coastal charm. The property’s proximity to Nha Trang’s attractions and its range of amenities position it well for both leisure and MICE segments. As Vietnam’s tourism sector grows, this opening adds to the country’s upscale accommodation supply, complementing other recent debuts such as Park Hyatt Phu Quoc.

With its focus on personalised service and local integration, Meliá Aurea Nha Trang is poised to become a key player in Vietnam’s coastal hospitality market, offering a distinctive alternative to existing oceanfront properties.
