Evoke Experiences, in partnership with Gujarat Tourism, has confirmed the return of the Rann Utsav–The Tent City for the 2026-27 season. The festival will run from 1 November 2026 to 7 March 2027 in Dhordo, approximately three hours from Bhuj, offering travel professionals a structured cultural tourism product in the Kutch region.
Expanded Accommodation and Archaeological Extensions
For the upcoming season, Evoke Experiences will introduce 35 seasonal tents near its Evoke Dholavira property, providing additional lodging for guests exploring the Harappan site of Dholavira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This expansion allows tour operators to offer itineraries that combine the main festival in Dhordo with an archaeological extension via the scenic Road to Heaven route. The Dholavira site, located on Khadir Bet, offers a distinct experience from the desert landscape of Dhordo.
The tented accommodation at Dhordo will feature regional dining, adventure activities, wellness programs, and stargazing under the clear desert skies. Cultural programming includes performances by the Siddi community, an Afro-Indian group, alongside traditional folk music and dance using instruments such as the Jodiya Pava and Harmonium. An on-site Haat will showcase local artisans offering Ajrakh textiles, Bandhani sarees, and traditional jewellery, positioning the Tent City as a hub for Kutch’s artistic heritage.
Booking Window and Discounts
Bookings for the season will open with the Rann Sale from 31 July to 2 August 2026, featuring a 25% discount. This early-booking incentive is designed to drive advance sales for travel agents and tour operators looking to secure inventory for their clients. The festival continues to be a significant draw for travellers seeking to experience the vibrant culture and history of Kutch.
For travel professionals, the Rann Utsav offers a structured cultural tourism product that can be integrated into broader Gujarat itineraries. The addition of the Dholavira extension provides a unique archaeological component, appealing to both leisure and educational travel segments. The partnership between Evoke Experiences and Gujarat Tourism ensures a consistent quality of service and accommodation, which is critical for repeat bookings and positive client feedback.
As the travel industry continues to recover and evolve, events like the Rann Utsav demonstrate the potential of cultural festivals to drive regional tourism. The combination of tented accommodation, local cuisine, and traditional performances creates an immersive experience that differentiates this product from standard hotel stays. For agents and operators, this represents an opportunity to offer a distinctive destination experience in a competitive market.
