Regent Phu Quoc, the MICHELIN 2025 Key-listed luxury resort on Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island, is rolling out a two-part culinary and cultural program timed to Vietnam National Day and the Golden Week travel period. The initiative, running from late August through mid-October, is designed to draw both regional and long-haul luxury travelers to the island destination.
From 29 August to 5 September, the resort's Rice Market venue will anchor the National Day celebrations. The lineup opens with “The Soul of Sài Gòn,” a tribute to the iconic Vietnamese dish Cơm Tấm, followed by “Việt Nam, Served with Pride,” a dinner led by Executive Sous Chef Huan Tran that pairs regional flavors with live performances. The festivities culminate on 2 September with “The Spirit of Việt Nam,” featuring beloved regional dishes and live culinary theatre.
Golden Week cross-property collaboration
Golden Week, from 1 to 11 October, brings a cross-property collaboration between Regent Taipei and Regent Phu Quoc under the banner “Where Lanterns Meet the Sea.” Guests can expect dim sum and Taiwanese family-table classics, alongside exclusive dinners such as “A Feast of Traditions” and “By Lantern Light.” The program also includes “An Evening of Hanoi's Finest Mixology,” with The Haflington bar taking over Bar Jade on 2 and 3 October.
The events underscore Phu Quoc's growing appeal as a luxury destination in Southeast Asia, a trend echoed in recent market analysis. As noted in Southeast Asia's luxury property market, wellness and sustainability are reshaping consumer preferences, and Regent's cultural programming aligns with that shift.
For travel professionals, the resort's strategy highlights the importance of experiential programming in driving off-peak demand. By leveraging national holidays and regional travel peaks, properties like Regent Phu Quoc can attract high-spending guests who value authentic cultural immersion alongside five-star amenities.
The MICHELIN Key recognition, awarded in 2025, adds a quality benchmark that resonates with discerning travelers. It also provides agents and tour operators with a tangible selling point when promoting Phu Quoc itineraries.
Regent Phu Quoc's approach mirrors broader industry moves to capitalize on cultural moments. For instance, Anantara's Golden Triangle resort recently tied its conservation efforts to World Elephant Day, demonstrating how themed events can enhance brand positioning.
The resort's Golden Week collaboration with Regent Taipei also signals a growing trend of inter-property partnerships within luxury hotel groups, allowing brands to cross-pollinate culinary talent and guest experiences across different markets.
For MICE planners, the events offer a template for blending leisure and business programming, a segment that continues to evolve in Vietnam. As Spalba's recent signings show, the country's MICE infrastructure is expanding, and resorts like Regent Phu Quoc are well-positioned to host high-end corporate events.
With Vietnam's tourism sector rebounding strongly, initiatives like these are likely to play a key role in sustaining momentum. The combination of local culinary heritage, international chef collaborations, and festive programming gives travel advisors a compelling narrative to share with clients seeking unique luxury experiences.
