Renaissance Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy's portfolio, is rolling out a refreshed chapter of its Evenings at Renaissance program across Asia-Pacific, excluding China. The initiative, set to debut on Renaissance Day of Discovery 2026, introduces a series of beverage rituals that draw on local ingredients and cultural traditions, aiming to give travelers a deeper sense of place through taste.
The new collection was developed by Demitria Demi Dana Paramita, an award-winning Indonesian bartender known for her innovative approach to mixology. Her creations transform familiar flavors into distinctive expressions of each destination's character, from floral punches to aromatic tea-based blends.
Signature rituals and experiences
Among the highlights are the Blooming Flower, an interactive floral punch that engages guests in the preparation, and The Night Market, a vibrant serve inspired by the energy of neighborhoods after dark. The Silk Road, an aromatic blend of tea, saffron, and spice, celebrates the historical exchange of flavors across cultures. These rituals are designed to be more than just drinks—they are immersive experiences that connect guests to local stories.
The program will be showcased throughout October and November, with participating hotels hosting events that feature local artisans and cultural performances. For example, Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa and Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre will offer guests opportunities to engage with crafts, cuisine, and community traditions.
Cristiano Rinaldi, Chief Lodging Product & Services Officer for Asia-Pacific excluding China at Marriott International, emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative. "The evolution of Evenings at Renaissance brings neighbourhood stories to life through the flavours and traditions that shape each destination," he said. This aligns with broader trends in the hospitality sector, where experiential offerings are becoming key differentiators for hotel brands.
The beverage rituals will continue beyond the Day of Discovery, providing ongoing touchpoints for guests to connect with local culture. This move reflects a growing emphasis on authentic, locally rooted experiences in the region, which has seen significant growth in travel spending. According to recent WTTC data, Asia-Pacific is driving global travel spending, underscoring the importance of such initiatives for hoteliers targeting this market.
Renaissance's focus on beverage programming is part of a wider industry trend. For instance, Austrian Airlines has introduced a seasonal wine program to enhance its onboard experience, showing how carriers and hotels alike are leveraging local flavors to differentiate their offerings.
The Evenings at Renaissance program is a key component of the brand's strategy to position itself as a lifestyle hotel choice for modern travelers. By partnering with local experts like Paramita, Renaissance aims to create memorable moments that resonate with guests long after their stay.
As the hospitality industry continues to evolve, such initiatives are likely to become more common, with hotels seeking to offer unique, culturally immersive experiences. For travel professionals, this development signals a growing opportunity to market properties that prioritize authentic local engagement.
