Singapore's culinary heritage takes centre stage this National Day as Ah Pui Teochew Porridge Buffet and Kwong Cheong Thye join forces for Savouring Singapore, a month-long dining event at Four Points Eatery. Running from 25 July to 31 August 2026, the collaboration celebrates the nation's 61st birthday with exclusive National Day specials that blend tradition with modern appeal.

Kwong Cheong Thye, established in 1892, is a storied name in Chinese sauces, while Ah Pui Teochew Porridge Buffet is known for its authentic Teochew comfort food. Executive Chef Anthony, affectionately known as 'Ah Pui', leads the buffet with a mission to preserve the essence of Teochew cuisine while adapting it for contemporary palates. His protégé, Chef Vincent, ensures these culinary traditions are passed down to the next generation.

National Day Specials and Heritage Flavours

The event introduces four National Day specials, each enhanced with Kwong Cheong Thye's signature sauces. Highlights include Heritage Seafood Hong Kong Noodles and Classic Steamed Chicken, both showcasing the depth of traditional Chinese condiments. Seafood lovers can enjoy Teochew Style Steamed Squid and Riverside Steamed Seabass, each offering distinct flavour profiles that reflect Singapore's multicultural food scene.

Beyond the specials, the buffet offers over 20 traditional Teochew dishes, such as Braised Duck and Steamed Muar Otah. A DIY Rojak station allows diners to customise their own salads, adding a interactive element to the experience. The collaboration also features a Kwong Cheong Thye pop-up booth, where guests can purchase heritage sauces, as well as goodie bag redemptions and discounts at the brand's Jewel Changi Airport store.

Chef Anthony remarked, 'This collaboration is a celebration of the flavours many of us grew up with.' The event not only honours tradition but also provides a unique dining experience for National Day celebrations.

For travel industry professionals, this partnership highlights the growing trend of heritage-brand collaborations in Singapore's hospitality sector. As the city-state continues to attract international visitors, such initiatives offer a taste of local culture that can enhance guest experiences at hotels and restaurants. The event also underscores the importance of preserving culinary traditions while appealing to modern diners, a balance that many F&B operators in the region are striving to achieve.

Singapore's tourism sector has seen a resurgence in cultural tourism, with visitors increasingly seeking authentic local experiences. The Savouring Singapore event aligns with this demand, offering a curated journey through Teochew cuisine that can be replicated by other properties. For hoteliers and restaurateurs, partnerships with heritage brands like Kwong Cheong Thye provide a way to differentiate their offerings and attract both local and international guests.

The collaboration also reflects broader trends in the Asia-Pacific hospitality market, where heritage and authenticity are becoming key differentiators. As noted in recent industry reports, travellers are prioritising experiences that connect them to local culture, and F&B plays a central role in that narrative. For travel agents and tour operators, promoting such events can add value to itineraries, particularly for clients interested in culinary tourism.
