T'way Air, the South Korean low-cost carrier, has partnered with the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) to roll out a targeted summer campaign on its Frankfurt–Seoul Incheon route. The initiative, running through 30 June, aims to stimulate demand from the German market by combining airfare discounts with on-ground perks designed to enhance the visitor experience in Korea.
Passengers booking on T'way Air's German website or app can apply the promo code JUN26 to receive up to 19% off base fares. Additional savings include a US$30 coupon for bookings exceeding US$500 and a US$50 coupon for bookings over US$600, subject to certain date exclusions. The campaign is open for travel from 1 June to 30 September, covering the peak summer season.
Welcome Kit and NAMANE Card Integration
For the first 2,000 passengers checking in at Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3, T'way Air will provide a welcome kit containing a NAMANE Card and a Korea travel guide. The NAMANE Card, a prepaid travel card popular among inbound visitors, offers 20% cashback at more than 267 dining venues and 550 retail outlets across Korea. This integration of financial technology with tourism marketing mirrors strategies seen in other markets, such as Traveloka's use of celebrity campaigns to boost destination interest.
The campaign underscores a broader trend of airlines and tourism boards co-creating value-added packages to differentiate themselves in competitive long-haul markets. By bundling flight discounts with a tangible spending benefit, T'way Air and KTO aim to position Korea as a cost-effective yet high-experience destination for European travellers.
Rebranding to Trinity Airways
Separately, T'way Air is undergoing a corporate rebranding to Trinity Airways Co. Ltd., following shareholder approval and regulatory clearance. The official launch date for the new identity has not yet been announced, but the carrier has confirmed that all existing bookings remain valid and that the transition will be seamless for passengers. The rebranding reflects the airline's ambition to expand its network and service offerings beyond its current low-cost model.
T'way Air currently operates a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft and serves routes across Asia, including Japan, China, Southeast Asia, and the recently launched Frankfurt service. The Frankfurt–Seoul route, launched in 2024, is the carrier's first long-haul destination and a key test of its ability to compete with established players on the Europe–Asia corridor.
For travel professionals, this campaign offers a case study in how secondary carriers can leverage tourism board partnerships to build brand awareness and drive load factors on new long-haul routes. The use of a cashback card tied to local merchants also provides a model for destination marketing that extends beyond the flight booking itself.
