Agoda has expanded its luxury inventory through a new partnership with Capella Hotel Group, bringing all Capella Hotels and Resorts and Patina Hotels and Resorts properties onto its platform. The integration gives Agoda's global user base direct access to the group's award-winning portfolio, which includes flagship properties in Bangkok, Bali, and Singapore.

Capella Hotels and Resorts was recently named the world's best hotel brand in Travel + Leisure's 2026 World's Best Awards, marking its fourth consecutive year at the top. The recognition underscores the brand's strength in the ultra-luxury segment, a category that is increasingly central to Asia's travel growth story.

Asia's wealth boom drives luxury demand

The partnership arrives as Asia is projected to account for nearly half of the world's new high-net-worth individuals by 2028, according to Visa. That demographic shift is reshaping luxury travel preferences, with a growing emphasis on personalization and immersive experiences rather than traditional opulence.

Agoda's own 2026 Travel Outlook Report highlights that 31% of travellers now prioritize culinary experiences, while 25% seek cultural exploration. These trends align closely with Capella's brand ethos, which focuses on tailored, culturally immersive stays.

Andrew Smith, Senior Vice President of Supply at Agoda, said: "Luxury today is personal. Our role at Agoda is to make sure that what a traveller is looking for—from an everyday getaway to a once-in-a-lifetime stay—is easy to discover and book."

The Asia Pacific region remains a key growth market for luxury travel, with demand projected to grow by 8% annually, according to McKinsey. Destinations like Bangkok and Bali, where Capella operates properties, are among the most searched-for five-star accommodations on Agoda.

Varun Whig, Vice President of Revenue at Capella Hotel Group, noted that the partnership with Agoda will help connect with a high-intent traveller base across Asia and beyond, driving demand for both Capella and Patina properties. "Agoda's reach and data-driven approach will allow us to engage with discerning travellers who value the unique experiences our brands offer," he added.

The move also reflects a broader trend of online travel agencies strengthening their luxury offerings. Agoda's parent company, Booking Holdings, has been investing in premium inventory across its brands, and this partnership is a clear step in that direction.

For travel professionals, the integration means expanded distribution for Capella and Patina, while agents and tour operators can now book these properties through Agoda's platform, potentially simplifying the booking process for high-end clients.
