Albida – Victoria Falls, a new all-inclusive luxury lodge, opened in September 2026, just 2.5 miles from the iconic waterfall. The property, part of the Victoria Falls Safari Collection, features 13 private pool villas and accommodates a maximum of 32 guests, positioning it as an exclusive retreat for high-end travellers seeking both comfort and adventure.

Signature experiences and wildlife encounters

Each evening, guests choose from two signature experiences. Options include helicopter flights over Victoria Falls, day trips to Botswana's Chobe National Park, and sunset cruises along the Zambezi River. The lodge also arranges guided game drives, walking safaris, and cultural visits to local villages, ensuring a diverse itinerary that blends adrenaline with cultural immersion.

For relaxation, the spa offers treatments inspired by regional traditions, while the villas themselves provide private terraces and plunge pools. Accommodation options cater to both couples and families, with configurations designed for privacy and comfort.

Sustainability milestone

The opening coincides with a major sustainability achievement for the Victoria Falls Safari Collection: a new 1-megawatt solar installation now powers the entire estate. This investment supports the collection's renewable energy goals and addresses local electricity challenges, a significant step for a region where grid reliability can be an issue.

“We are proud to open Albida with a fully solar-powered operation,” said a spokesperson for the collection. “This commitment not only reduces our carbon footprint but also ensures a seamless guest experience.”

Zimbabwean heritage and cuisine

Albida celebrates Zimbabwean heritage through its design and culinary programme. The lodge incorporates reclaimed historic Gwayi tiles, adding a sense of place and history. Dining focuses on locally sourced ingredients, with menus that highlight regional flavours and traditional dishes.

This cultural emphasis aligns with broader trends in luxury travel, where travellers increasingly prioritise experiences over amenities. Albida’s blend of adventure and cultural authenticity positions it well in this evolving market.

Marketing and North American push

To attract North American travellers, the Victoria Falls Safari Collection has appointed CornerSun Destination Marketing as its US public relations agency. The agency plans to organise a press trip in January 2027 to showcase the property to key media and travel advisors.

The move underscores the lodge's ambition to capture a share of the lucrative US luxury safari market, which has shown resilience in recent years. As adventure travel continues to grow in popularity, destinations like Victoria Falls are well-positioned to benefit.

Albida’s opening also adds to the region's luxury accommodation options, complementing existing properties in the Victoria Falls Safari Collection. With its focus on sustainability, exclusivity, and authentic experiences, the lodge is set to become a benchmark for high-end eco-lodges in Southern Africa.

For travel professionals, Albida represents a new option for clients seeking a combination of luxury and adventure in one of Africa’s most spectacular settings. The lodge’s all-inclusive model simplifies booking, while its small capacity ensures a personalised experience.

As the property gains visibility through its US PR campaign, it is likely to attract attention from luxury travel advisors and tour operators looking to offer something distinctive. With its solar-powered operations and cultural touches, Albida is not just a place to stay—it’s a statement about the future of sustainable luxury travel.
