Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is significantly expanding its luxury footprint through a new partnership with HotelREZ Hotels & Resorts. The agreement will bring more than 40 independent luxury properties into Wyndham's Registry Collection by early 2027, including high-profile names such as The TownHouse Mykonos in Greece and Galgorm Resort in Northern Ireland.

The collaboration gives Wyndham Rewards members access to a broader array of distinctive luxury destinations, allowing them to earn and redeem points at properties that previously operated outside the major hotel group networks. For HotelREZ-affiliated hoteliers, the deal provides access to Wyndham's global distribution system and technology stack while preserving each property's individual brand identity.

Strategic expansion for Wyndham's luxury portfolio

Scott Strickland, Chief Commercial Officer of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said the partnership directly addresses growing demand for luxury travel options among Wyndham Rewards members. "This collaboration expands the choice of luxury hotels and resorts available to our members, particularly in sought-after destinations worldwide," Strickland noted.

The agreement introduces a flexible model for hotels within HotelREZ's Best Loved Hotels portfolio. Selected properties will gain access to Wyndham's cloud-based technology solutions, including the AI-powered Wyndham Connect platform, which streamlines operations and enhances guest personalization.

Mark Lewis, Group CEO of HotelREZ Hotels & Resorts, emphasized the commercial upside for member hotels. "This partnership builds on our 20-year relationship with independent hoteliers and opens new revenue opportunities through Wyndham's extensive distribution network," Lewis said.

The move aligns with Wyndham's broader strategy to strengthen its luxury offerings. Earlier this year, the company expanded its Wyndham Rewards program into holiday rentals, signaling a push to capture more upscale and alternative accommodation segments.

For independent hoteliers, the partnership offers a path to global visibility without sacrificing autonomy. HotelREZ's Elegant Hotels of the World portfolio, which features design-led properties across Europe and beyond, will now be marketed under the Registry Collection umbrella while retaining their unique character.

Industry analysts see this as a win-win: Wyndham gains instant scale in the luxury independent space, while HotelREZ members benefit from Wyndham's technology and distribution muscle. The arrangement also intensifies competition among hotel groups vying for the attention of luxury travelers, a segment that continues to prioritize experiences over amenities, as recent Agoda data on Asia's luxury travelers suggests.

With the first properties expected to go live in early 2027, both companies are positioning for a strong start. Wyndham's Registry Collection now stands to become a more formidable player in the luxury hotel landscape, offering travelers more choices and hoteliers more opportunities.
