Digital travel platform Agoda has launched a series of updates to its iOS and Android applications, targeting the trip planning and management experience for travelers. The enhancements include real-time flight visibility, an AI-powered hotel browsing feature, expanded language support, and a consolidated multiproduct booking engine.

Real-Time Flight Notifications

Agoda now delivers real-time notifications for flights booked through its platform. Users receive an average of two to three alerts per booking, covering status updates, gate and terminal changes, check-in counters, and baggage carousel assignments. This feature is available on both iOS and Android, aiming to reduce traveler anxiety by providing timely information throughout the journey.

Chief Product Officer Ittai Chorev commented, “Travel is always a little stressful, so having the right information at the right time is both useful and reduces stress.” The move aligns with broader industry trends toward digital tools that enhance operational transparency. A recent SITA report noted that digital tools cut mishandled bags by 23% in 2025, though costs still top $6 billion, underscoring the value of real-time data for both airlines and passengers.

AI-Enhanced Hotel Browsing

On iOS, Agoda introduced Gallery View, a photo-forward browsing interface for hotels. The feature pairs each image with relevant guest reviews using an AI tool, allowing users to see what other travelers have said about specific room types, amenities, or views alongside the corresponding photo. This aims to streamline decision-making by connecting visual content with verified feedback.

The update builds on Agoda’s existing data capabilities. Earlier this year, the company released data showing that Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Osaka top South Korean short-haul getaways, demonstrating its use of booking insights to inform travel trends.

Expanded Language Support and Multiproduct Booking

Agoda has broadened its language support for flight-related chat queries, now offering assistance in Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Thai, Indonesian, and for Hong Kong-based users. This expansion caters to key source markets in Asia-Pacific, where the platform has a strong presence.

The company’s multiproduct booking engine now enables travelers to book hotels, flights, and activities in a single transaction. All trip components are consolidated in the My Trips section for easy reference, simplifying itinerary management. Agoda’s inventory includes over 6 million holiday properties, more than 130,000 flight routes, and over 300,000 activities globally.

These updates come as travel technology vendors increasingly focus on personalization and efficiency. The integration of AI into hotel browsing mirrors moves by other platforms, such as Streamline’s integration of Leo AI across its property management platform for short-term rentals, highlighting a sector-wide push toward smarter search tools.

Agoda’s enhancements are available now on its iOS and Android apps, with no changes to its core business model. The company continues to compete with other online travel agencies like Booking.com and Expedia, as well as GDS systems such as Amadeus and Sabre, by differentiating through mobile-first features and localized support.
