Aman at Sea has reached a key construction milestone with the float-out of its first yacht, Amangati, at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, Italy. The event marks the transition of the vessel from dry dock to water, signalling the completion of its exterior build and the start of interior outfitting.
Design and specifications
Designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, Amangati spans 180 metres across nine decks. The yacht will accommodate 94 guests in 47 suites, supported by a crew of 207. Each suite will come with a dedicated suite host, and the vessel will feature the largest spa in luxury yachting, along with four signature restaurants.
The name Amangati derives from Sanskrit, meaning “peaceful motion,” reflecting the brand’s emphasis on serenity and understated luxury.
Itinerary and booking details
The yacht’s maiden voyage is scheduled for 7 May 2027, departing from Palma de Mallorca to Nice. Following that, Amangati will offer Mediterranean voyages ranging from five to eight nights. Reservations are now open for the inaugural season, as well as for newly added Caribbean itineraries in autumn 2027.
Jonathan Wilson, President and CEO of Aman at Sea, commented: “Today is a defining moment in the story of Aman at Sea. To see Amangati painted, afloat and taking shape for the first time is to see years of design, craftsmanship and vision meeting the water together.”
Strategic context
Aman at Sea is a joint venture between Aman and Cruise Saudi, aiming to extend the brand’s philosophy of privacy and personalised service to the oceans. The launch of Amangati positions the venture in the ultra-luxury cruise segment, competing with other high-end operators such as Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and Four Seasons Yachts.
For travel professionals, this development signals a new option for affluent clients seeking exclusive, small-ship experiences. The combination of Aman’s hospitality DNA with a purpose-built yacht offers a differentiated product in the luxury cruising market.
Industry observers will note parallels with other recent luxury launches, such as Emerald Kaia's yacht-scale voyages in the Indian Ocean, which also target discerning travellers seeking intimate, high-end itineraries.
As Aman at Sea moves toward its 2027 debut, the company is expected to release further details on dining concepts, wellness programming and shore excursions. The venture’s success will depend on its ability to deliver the same level of exclusivity and service that Aman has built in its land-based resorts.
