Atlantis Dubai has confirmed a wide-ranging enhancement programme across its flagship properties on Palm Jumeirah, with completion slated for 2026. The upgrades target Atlantis, The Palm, Aquaventure Waterpark, and Atlantis The Royal, aiming to refresh guest experiences through expanded dining, leisure, and retail offerings.
Atlantis, The Palm: dining and lounge upgrades
At Atlantis, The Palm, the iconic Plato's Lounge will gain a new terrace balcony with views over the Dubai skyline, providing an additional social space for guests. The one-Michelin-starred seafood restaurant Ossiano will undergo a refurbishment designed to enhance its underwater dining experience, a key draw for luxury travellers.
Aquaventure Waterpark will introduce Poseidon's Village, described as its largest indoor dining venue. The space will accommodate nearly 700 guests and will feature a diverse menu including vegan options and a revamped children's menu, catering to family-oriented visitors.
Atlantis The Royal: new bar and expanded pool areas
Atlantis The Royal will see the addition of The Garden Bar, an outdoor lounge offering panoramic views and increased seating capacity. The Royal Pool will be upgraded with new family facilities and additional sunbeds, while Cloud 22, the property's rooftop pool, will expand its deck to provide more lounging space and improved views of Palm Jumeirah and the Arabian Gulf.
Kym Barter, Managing Director of Atlantis Dubai, commented: “Atlantis Dubai prides itself on its continuous evolution, and these enhancements reflect our commitment to investing in the future of the destination and the experiences we create for our guests.”
Retail expansion and luxury partnerships
The enhancements extend to retail, with new fashion and lifestyle partners joining the properties. Chloé and Brunello Cucinelli will open at Atlantis The Royal, while LEGO will set up at Atlantis, The Palm. These additions underscore Atlantis Dubai's strategy to position itself as a premier hospitality destination, appealing to both leisure and luxury segments.
The announcement comes as Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a global tourism hub, with recent developments such as the Etihad Rail link between Dubai and Abu Dhabi enhancing connectivity. Atlantis Dubai's investment aligns with the emirate's broader push to attract high-end travellers, a trend also seen in other regional properties like new dual-hotel appointments in Dubai and Sharjah.
For travel professionals, these upgrades signal a continued focus on experiential luxury and family-friendly amenities, which are critical for booking decisions. The expanded dining options, including vegan menus, reflect evolving guest preferences, while the new retail partnerships offer additional commission opportunities for agents.
Atlantis Dubai's investment is part of a broader pattern of major resort enhancements across the region, similar to Riu Palace Mexico's recent refurbishment. As competition intensifies, properties are leveraging upgrades to differentiate themselves in the luxury market.
The 2026 timeline gives travel advisors ample opportunity to familiarise themselves with the new offerings and incorporate them into client recommendations. With the additions of Poseidon's Village and The Garden Bar, Atlantis Dubai is clearly targeting both family and adult segments, ensuring a broad appeal.
Industry observers will watch how these enhancements impact occupancy and average daily rates, particularly given the strong performance of Dubai's hospitality sector. The city's hotels have consistently reported high occupancy, and investments like these are likely to sustain that momentum.
