Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator of Bahrain International Airport, has confirmed the appointment of Ahmed Mohamed Janahi as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 2 August 2026. Janahi steps into the role after serving as Acting CEO and Chief Airport Operations Officer, where he was responsible for operations, safety, and crisis management.
The appointment was announced by Khalid Hussain Taqi, Chairman of BAC, who expressed confidence in Janahi's ability to drive the company's performance and support its strategic objectives. Janahi, in turn, thanked the board for their trust and pledged to work closely with the Board of Directors and partners to build on the airport's achievements.
Aviation pedigree
Janahi brings more than two decades of aviation experience, having held senior positions at Oman Air and Gulf Air. At both carriers, he contributed to corporate transformation and operational development, giving him a strong grounding in airline operations that will inform his leadership at the airport.
His recent tenure at BAC has already seen him oversee day-to-day operations, safety protocols, and emergency response, ensuring continuity as the airport navigates a period of growth and modernisation.
