The Emirates Group has once again secured the UAE's highest federal sustainability accolade, the Platinum Impact Seal, for the 2025–2027 cycle. Awarded by the UAE National CSR Fund, Majra, under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the seal was presented to Emirates Deputy President and Chief Operations Officer Adel Al Redha by Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism.
This marks the second consecutive time the group has received the Platinum Impact Seal, which recognizes organizations demonstrating exceptional performance across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. The award aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and UAE national priorities, underscoring the group's role in advancing sustainable business practices within the global travel industry.
Operational Sustainability in Action
Emirates' Environmental Sustainability Framework focuses on three pillars: reducing emissions, consuming responsibly, and preserving wildlife. A key initiative is the Green Ops programme, which saved over 98,000 tonnes of fuel in the 2024–25 financial year. The airline also procured more than 28,000 tonnes of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in 2025–26, a significant step toward decarbonizing its long-haul operations. Additionally, Emirates has upcycled materials from its retrofit programme and partnered with Etihad Clean Energy Development to install solar panels at its Engineering Centre in Dubai.
Dnata, the group's ground handling and travel services arm, is also advancing its sustainability agenda. In 2025–26, dnata increased its global consumption of alternative fuels by 89% and diverted 47% of its waste from disposal. The company continues to electrify its fleet of ground service equipment, reducing reliance on fossil fuels across its operations at major airports worldwide.
Adel Al Redha commented: "The Emirates Group is proud to be recognised with the Platinum Impact Seal for the second consecutive cycle, reaffirming our commitment to advancing sustainability."
The award ceremony also launched the UAE Companies for Good 2031 Strategy, a national initiative aimed at enhancing the country's CSR and sustainability ecosystem. For travel professionals, the Emirates Group's recognition signals a broader industry shift toward measurable ESG commitments. Airlines, hotel groups, and tour operators can look to Emirates' integrated approach—from cargo fleet modernization to onboard innovations like Starlink connectivity—as a benchmark for aligning operational efficiency with environmental stewardship.
As the UAE positions itself as a hub for sustainable tourism and aviation, the Platinum Impact Seal provides a clear framework for other industry players. Emirates' continued leadership in this area reinforces its role as a key partner for travel agents, corporate travel managers, and MICE organizers seeking to meet their own sustainability targets.
