Emirates is raising the bar for premium ground experiences with the launch of its next-generation lounge concept, now open in Munich and Frankfurt. The carrier has committed more than AED 50 million per location, signaling a strategic shift from incremental upgrades to a full-scale transformation of its airport hospitality offering.
Design and Ambience
The lounges draw directly from Emirates’ latest cabin interiors, creating a seamless transition from gate to aircraft. Signature elements include the Ghaf Tree motif, marble and gold accents, and warm, layered lighting. Italian eco-leather seating and wireless charging at every seat are standard. Globally synced Rolex clocks reinforce the precision-driven ethos.
Private enclaves and social workspaces are designed to feel more like a members-only club than an airport facility, catering to both productivity and relaxation.
Culinary and Beverage Program
Dining is elevated with live stations serving à la minute dishes, regionally inspired menus, and artisanal breads, pizzas, and traditional manakeesh. A dedicated barista and mixologist offer bespoke coffees by day and destination-inspired cocktails by night. The wine and spirits selection includes premium champagne.
Wellness and Amenities
Wellness is a core pillar. Spa-inspired shower suites feature VOYA amenities, while Quiet Zones provide sleep essentials. The ambient scent of bergamot, jasmine, and soft woods is diffused throughout. Serene prayer rooms offer quiet reflection.
Global Rollout Timeline
Following the Munich and Frankfurt openings, Emirates will launch lounges in Manchester (July 2026), Mauritius (August 2026), and Istanbul (October 2026). Each location will incorporate local design cues while maintaining the airline’s consistent visual language.
For travel professionals, this rollout underscores Emirates’ commitment to differentiating its premium product on the ground, a critical touchpoint for loyalty and brand perception. The investment also aligns with broader trends in luxury travel, where immersive experiences are increasingly valued by high-end travelers.
Emirates’ lounge expansion complements its fleet and network growth, including the recent A350 service to Colombo. The airline continues to integrate its ground and onboard offerings, as seen in its chocolate sourcing and onboard production behind 64 million annual servings.
For agents and tour operators, these lounges represent a tangible selling point for premium cabin bookings, particularly for clients connecting through European hubs. The consistent yet locally enriched experience across destinations strengthens Emirates’ position as a leader in luxury air travel.
