Hotelverse has been named Ancillary Revenue Platform of the Year – Thailand at the Travel Daily Media Trade Excellence Awards 2026 – Thailand. The award recognizes the company's work in helping hotels turn room personalization into a meaningful source of ancillary income, a segment where hospitality has long lagged behind airlines and cruise lines.

While ancillary revenue accounts for roughly 40% of airline revenue and 34% in the cruise sector, hotels typically capture only about 4%. Hotelverse aims to close that gap by giving guests more choice and control over their stay, from the moment they book to the moment they check out.

From room category to exact room selection

Hotelverse's platform is built around attribute-based selling, allowing travelers to select specific features such as a sea view, balcony, higher floor, or bathtub, rather than simply picking a standard room type. This approach not only increases transparency but also creates new revenue opportunities for hotels.

The company also pioneered the ability for guests to choose their exact room before arrival, using digital twin technology that lets them virtually explore the property and select their preferred room. This feature has proven popular: Hotelverse reports over 3 million digital twin views, with 74% of website visitors interacting with the experience.

Beyond room selection, the platform supports upgrades, bidding, early check-in, late check-out, and other ancillary services. It integrates with existing hotel technology systems and provides tools for personalized offers, segmentation, reporting, and guest communication.

The commercial impact is significant. According to Hotelverse, confirmation emails featuring room-selection banners achieve a 79% open rate, the platform delivers a 19% conversion rate, and it generates an average of €129 in additional revenue per booking. A recent survey found that 95% of guests who selected their room would use the service again, underscoring the value of choice in the booking experience.

Founded in 2022, Hotelverse has raised $6.5 million and its technology is now deployed by major hotel groups across more than 20 destinations. The company is now focusing on international expansion, with particular emphasis on the United States, Asia, and Southern Europe, and is preparing a US funding round to support its next phase of growth.

The award validates Hotelverse's mission to bring more personalization, transparency, and commercial opportunity to the hotel booking journey. As hotels increasingly seek to diversify revenue streams, platforms like Hotelverse are becoming essential tools for revenue managers and commercial teams.
