Hilton's Tapestry Collection is expanding its footprint in Thailand with the upcoming debut of Nivata Koh Samui, a beachfront resort set to open on 7 November 2026. Located on Taling Ngam Beach along the island's quieter southwest coast, the property aims to attract travellers seeking a more serene alternative to the bustling northern beaches.
The resort will offer 78 rooms and villas spread across ten accommodation categories, including 24 pool-access guestrooms and 12 standalone villas. Design draws on local heritage and maritime history, with interiors that reflect Samui's fishing and seafaring traditions. A beachfront infinity pool and a 72-metre lazy pool are among the key recreational amenities.
F&B and guest experience
Dining options include three outlets: Saboey Lobby Lounge, MAZU, and Cocos Pool Bar. The culinary programme spans Thai, Mediterranean, and international cuisines, catering to both leisure and business travellers. The property also participates in Hilton Honors, allowing members to earn and redeem points during their stay.
Govnd Joshi, General Manager of Nivata Koh Samui, said in a statement: "Nivata invites guests to discover a quieter side of Koh Samui, where beachfront living and local heritage come together." The resort is owned by Ambrosia Samui Co., Ltd. and managed by PCL Hospitality Co., Ltd.
To mark the opening, the resort is offering introductory rates from US$110 (THB3,999) per room per night for the first 100 bookings. This pricing strategy is designed to generate early visibility and drive initial occupancy, a common tactic for new properties in Thailand's competitive hospitality market.
Koh Samui continues to be a key destination for hotel developers, with several openings planned in the coming years. The island's appeal extends beyond leisure, as Thailand's broader tourism sector shows resilience. Recent data suggests the country is set to lead Asia in trip frequency by 2027, according to Agoda's travel outlook. This bodes well for new entrants like Nivata.
The Tapestry Collection brand, known for its independent-minded hotels, allows Nivata to maintain a distinct identity while benefiting from Hilton's global distribution and loyalty network. This hybrid approach is increasingly popular among owners seeking both brand support and local character.
For travel advisors and tour operators, the property's location on the southwest coast offers a point of differentiation from the more developed Chaweng and Lamai areas. The resort's emphasis on heritage and tranquillity could appeal to luxury travellers and couples, as well as small incentive groups looking for an exclusive setting.
Thailand's MICE sector is also evolving, with a growing focus on digital visibility and regional expansion, as noted in recent industry reports. While Nivata is primarily leisure-oriented, its meeting and event spaces could tap into the island's incentive travel demand.
The opening of Nivata Koh Samui adds to a wave of new hospitality projects in Southeast Asia. Nearby, Clinique La Prairie is set to open its first wellness resort in Phuket, underscoring the region's appeal for high-end wellness tourism. In Bali, Portier Hotels recently opened The Arc House and has plans for Hong Kong and Melbourne, reflecting broader investor confidence in the Asian hospitality market.
With its introductory rates and Hilton Honors integration, Nivata Koh Samui is positioned to capture early bookings from both domestic and international travellers. The property's success will likely depend on its ability to deliver the promised blend of upscale comfort and authentic local culture, a formula that has proven effective across the Tapestry Collection portfolio.
