Maxamation has completed the deployment of its Aviator revenue management (RM) system at Perimeter Aviation and its Bearskin Airlines brand, one of Canada's largest regional carriers. The rollout, which included on-site training in Thunder Bay, Ontario, integrates Aviator into the airline's daily revenue operations.

Perimeter Aviation, founded in Winnipeg in 1960 as Canada's first private instrument flight rating school, has grown into a key connector of remote northern communities. Its merger with Bearskin Airlines in 2018 created a combined operation serving 28 destinations across Manitoba and Ontario with a fleet of 38 aircraft. The group also operates an approved maintenance organization, Aeromed air ambulance services, and cargo shipping.

The airline selected Aviator for its comprehensive functionality, ease of use, and the strength of Maxamation's training and support. During the rollout, the team customized the system to handle the region's unique fare structures, which often challenge conventional RM approaches. Aviator also provides automated competitive responses, a critical feature in a dynamic market.

“Working alongside the Perimeter team on-site was a real highlight,” said Paul Harvalias, CEO of Maxamation Vancouver, who led the training. “Their deep knowledge of northern aviation, combined with Aviator's flexibility, allowed us to tailor the system to their market and set them up for lasting success.”

Leeann Organ, Vice President of Network & Revenue Management at Perimeter Aviation, noted the system's impact: “Aviator has given our team the tools and confidence to manage revenue more strategically. The platform has enabled us to effectively manage two distinct regions, each with its own market dynamics, while maintaining a consistent approach to revenue management. Maxamation's hands-on support made the transition seamless, and the benefits have been clear across our first months of operation.”

Broader industry shift

The deployment reflects a growing trend: sophisticated revenue management, once the domain of major carriers, is now accessible to specialized regional operators. These airlines play a vital role in keeping remote communities connected, and Aviator's flexibility allows them to tailor RM to community-first fare structures.

Maxamation, headquartered in Sydney, Australia, with support centers in Asia, South Africa, Europe, and North America, has been delivering RM solutions since 1997. Aviator is now used by more than forty customers, with cloud-enabled technology underpinning its capabilities.

For Perimeter Aviation, the adoption of Aviator is part of a broader strategy to enhance efficiency and revenue growth. The airline's Dash-8 fleet has flown over 180,000 flights since 2006, underscoring the scale of its operations. With bases in Winnipeg, Thompson, Sioux Lookout, and Thunder Bay, the group continues to expand its network and service offerings.

As regional airlines increasingly turn to advanced technology, partnerships like this one highlight the potential for tailored RM solutions to drive performance. For travel professionals, the case demonstrates how even niche operators can leverage data-driven tools to compete effectively.
