Traveloka, the Southeast Asian travel technology platform, has announced its annual 7.7 Epic Sale for the Malaysian market, scheduled from 6 to 10 July 2026. The promotion targets both leisure and business travellers, offering discounted flights, hotel stays, and activity bookings through the company's app and website.

Sale Details and Key Offers

The campaign includes flights starting at RM77, with select four- and five-star hotels discounted up to 50%. Attractions and activities also see reductions of up to 50%, alongside sitewide coupon availability. Nightly flash sales will provide up to RM177 off coupons, with the most aggressive pricing concentrated on 7 July. Traveloka supports local payment methods including Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Maybank2u, and online banking, facilitating seamless transactions for Malaysian users.

Alex Jung, Head of Marketing at Traveloka, stated: "Traveloka 7.7 Epic Sale promises epic deals, giving travellers across Southeast Asia easy access to the cheapest flights, hotels, and activities all conveniently within one app."

Founded in 2012, Traveloka operates across multiple countries including Australia, Indonesia, Japan, and Malaysia. The platform has surpassed 140 million app downloads and was named Best Travel App at the Sensor Tower APAC Awards. It offers access to over 2 million hotels worldwide and 24/7 live chat support.

For travel industry professionals, this sale highlights Traveloka's continued push to capture market share in Malaysia's competitive online travel agency (OTA) space. The company competes with regional players like Agoda and Booking.com, as well as local aggregators. The emphasis on mobile-first booking and local payment integration reflects broader trends in Southeast Asian travel technology, where digital wallets and e-wallets are increasingly dominant.

Traveloka's strategy also aligns with the post-pandemic recovery in Malaysian tourism, which has seen a rebound in both domestic and international travel. The 7.7 Epic Sale could drive incremental demand for airlines such as AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines, and Batik Air, as well as hotel groups like Marriott, Accor, and local chains. The promotion's timing in early July coincides with school holidays in Malaysia, potentially boosting family travel.

Travel agents and tour operators may find opportunities to leverage these deals for client packages, particularly for short-haul destinations like Bangkok, Singapore, and Bali. The platform's 24/7 support and extensive hotel inventory make it a viable tool for agents seeking competitive pricing for their customers.
