At the 2026 Feishu Infinite Future Conference and Doubao Work Launch Conference held on September 15, Trip.com Group's corporate travel unit Trip.Biz showcased a significant upgrade to its AI-powered business travel capabilities. The company has integrated its specialized travel AI agents directly into ByteDance's Doubao Work platform, marking a shift toward AI-native travel management for enterprises.
Trip.Biz and Feishu, ByteDance's enterprise collaboration suite, already had a mature system integration, allowing employees to access Trip.Biz directly through Feishu for business travel bookings. The new AI ecosystem integration takes this a step further, eliminating the need for companies to undertake additional development or for employees to switch between platforms. Users can now simply interact with Doubao Work to access Trip.Biz's specialized business travel AI for policy inquiries, trip planning, and bookings.
Streamlining the booking process
In practical terms, the upgrade dramatically shortens the booking process. Under the traditional model, booking a flight and hotel typically involves more than 10 steps—searching, filtering, comparing options, entering information, and placing an order—taking an average of more than 15 minutes. Employees also had to manually check their choices against corporate travel policies. For companies without a corporate travel platform, employees often had to switch between multiple platforms for travel applications and bookings, followed by a separate reimbursement process after the trip.
With the new Doubao Work integration, employees only need to enter their travel requirements in the chat window. The AI automatically accesses corporate travel policies and real-time inventory to recommend the best-fit options within the company's compliance framework. Once confirmed, the flight and hotel can be booked together with a single click.
For example, an employee can simply type, "Book me an Air China flight to Beijing tomorrow morning and a contracted hotel closest to China World Trade Center." The system then automatically recommends an itinerary based on corporate travel policies, historical preferences, flight status, and contracted rates. The entire process takes just three steps and can be completed in one to two minutes—about 10 times more efficient than the traditional process.
AI agents as connectors
Trip.Biz has integrated its travel Q&A agent and travel booking agent into Doubao Work as "connectors." The former covers more than 93% of business travel Q&A scenarios, including corporate travel policy inquiries, real-time resource recommendations, and travel information such as flight and train schedules. The latter offers two core capabilities—trip planning and one-click booking—and supports recommendations combining multiple segments into a single itinerary.
This move reflects a broader trend in the corporate travel sector, where AI is increasingly used to automate routine tasks and enhance traveler experience. Trip.com Group has been investing heavily in AI, and this integration with Doubao Work is a key part of its strategy to bring AI to the forefront of business travel management. The company's recent financial performance, including a Q2 loss after a SAMR penalty, underscores the importance of innovation in maintaining competitive edge.
For travel management companies and corporate travel buyers, the integration signals a move toward more seamless, AI-driven booking experiences. It also highlights the growing role of super-apps and enterprise platforms in the travel ecosystem, as seen with other tech-driven initiatives like Emerging Travel Group's integration of Rippla's influencer network.
As AI continues to reshape the corporate travel landscape, Trip.Biz's integration with Doubao Work could serve as a model for other travel technology providers. The ability to deliver specialized travel AI within a widely used enterprise platform reduces friction for employees and gives travel managers greater control over policy compliance and cost management.
With the conference marking the official launch of Doubao Work, Trip.Biz is positioning itself at the forefront of AI-driven business travel. The company's focus on reducing booking time and improving user experience is likely to resonate with travel managers seeking to streamline operations and enhance traveler satisfaction.
