Bookings open on 22 October 2026, with introductory rates from US$1,650 per night in low season and up to US$4,500 during the festive period.

The 165-square-metre villas, numbered 211 to 245, sit above the lagoon and include a 23-square-metre private pool. The design targets travellers seeking seclusion without sacrificing direct ocean access. The resort says the category is aimed at both honeymooners and repeat guests who prioritise privacy.
In parallel, Vakkaru is renaming its existing Overwater Pool Villa category to Overwater Deluxe Pool Villa. The change is purely nominal—features and pricing remain unchanged—but it helps differentiate the two tiers in booking systems and agent materials.
Vakkaru currently operates 111 villas and residences across the island. The new villas will bring the overwater inventory to 35 units, strengthening the resort’s position in the competitive Maldivian luxury segment, where brands like Oaga Art Resort and Amilla Maldives are also expanding their wellness and villa offerings.

The resort earned a MICHELIN Key in the 2025 MICHELIN Guide Hotel Selection and ranked ninth among Asia’s Best Resorts in Travel + Leisure’s 2026 list. The Maldives remains a key growth market for luxury hospitality. Recent openings and expansions—such as Hilton’s new lifestyle properties and Sun Siyam Vilu Reef’s coral conservation programme—show that operators are diversifying beyond standard overwater bungalows.
