Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has reported a significant expansion across Europe, the Middle East, Eurasia, and Africa (EMEA) during the first half of 2026, signing 25 new hotels and opening 13 properties. The move reinforces the group's presence in high-potential travel markets, including Türkiye, India, and Central Asia, as demand for experience-led travel and internationally recognised brands continues to rise.

With the latest additions, Wyndham now operates more than 750 hotels in EMEA, representing over 99,000 rooms. The region has become a cornerstone of the company's sustainable growth strategy, according to Dimitris Manikis, President of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts EMEA. “The momentum we've seen in the first half of the year reflects the strength of those underlying market fundamentals,” Manikis said.

Türkiye remains a focal point

Türkiye continues to be a priority market for Wyndham, with multiple openings across business hubs and resort destinations. Notable additions include TRYP by Wyndham Istanbul Maltepe and Ramada Encore by Wyndham Midyat. These properties are designed to cater to a wide range of travellers, from corporate clients to cultural tourists, aligning with the country's growing appeal as a crossroads of business and leisure.

The expansion in Türkiye is part of a broader strategy to diversify the portfolio across segments and geographies, ensuring that Wyndham brands are present in both established and emerging destinations.

Europe and Central Asia growth

In Europe and the CIS, Wyndham has strengthened its footprint with openings such as Wyndham Grand Carvoeiro Algarve in Portugal and Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Tashkent in Uzbekistan. These properties reflect the company's ability to adapt its brands to local market conditions while maintaining international standards.

India is another key growth area, with new signings in high-growth destinations like Vrindavan and Jaipur. The country's expanding middle class and increasing domestic and international travel demand make it an attractive market for hotel development.

Wyndham's expansion is supported by The Wyndham Advantage, a platform that provides marketing, technology, and operational support to hotel owners and operators. This infrastructure is designed to maximise property performance and ensure consistent guest experiences across the portfolio.

The company's growth in EMEA is part of a broader trend of international hotel groups investing in the region. For example, IHCL's recent signing in Sindhudurg highlights the ongoing development of hospitality infrastructure in emerging destinations.

Wyndham's focus on EMEA also aligns with broader industry movements, such as Finnair's expanded UK-Helsinki schedule, which underscores the region's connectivity and travel demand. As airlines and hotel groups alike invest in the region, EMEA is poised to remain a dynamic market for years to come.

With a robust pipeline and a clear strategy, Wyndham is well-positioned to capture emerging opportunities in the EMEA hospitality landscape. The company's ability to sign and open properties across diverse markets demonstrates its agility and commitment to growth.
