Taj Bangalore is getting into the Halloween spirit with a themed dinner buffet at its all-day dining venue, Café 77 East, on 31 October. The event, running from 6:30pm to 11pm, is priced at INR 3,000++ (approximately US$36) per person, offering a festive evening for hotel guests and local diners alike.

A menu with a spooky twist

The buffet will feature a range of Halloween-inspired dishes, blending familiar flavours with creative presentations. Live cooking stations will serve Mummy Pizzas and Devil’s Tacos, while Indian favourites get a ghoulish makeover with Ghost Chilli Chicken and Bloody Red Butter Chicken. The salad and cold counter includes Roasted Pumpkin Salad with Balsamic Reduction and Spooky Devilled Eggs, and guests can also try Witch’s Cauldron Pasta at the live stations.

For dessert, the counter will showcase Halloween Chocolate Graveyard, Black Velvet Cake, and Spider-Web Panna Cotta, adding a sweet finish to the themed evening.

This event is part of a broader trend of hotels using seasonal celebrations to drive footfall and enhance guest experiences. As Halloween's evolution into a global tourism driver continues, properties across Asia are rolling out themed dining and events. For instance, Four Seasons Bengaluru is staging a Halloween weekend with its own culinary offerings, while Pattaya Marriott Resort has added Halloween dining and Day of the Dead events to its calendar.

For travel professionals, such events represent more than just a festive meal—they are a strategic tool for boosting occupancy and ancillary revenue during the shoulder season. Hotels that effectively market these experiences can attract both local foodies and international travellers seeking authentic seasonal celebrations.

Taj Bangalore, part of the Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), continues to position its F&B outlets as destinations in their own right. Café 77 East, known for its multi-cuisine menu, is leveraging the Halloween theme to offer a unique dining experience that stands out in Bengaluru’s competitive hospitality market.

The event also aligns with a wider industry push towards experiential dining, where presentation and storytelling are as important as the food itself. By combining familiar flavours with creative Halloween presentations, Taj Bangalore aims to deliver a memorable evening that encourages social sharing and repeat visits.

As the travel industry increasingly focuses on domestic and local demand, such themed events provide a low-risk, high-engagement way to drive revenue. For hoteliers and F&B managers, the key is to balance novelty with operational efficiency, ensuring that live stations and themed décor enhance rather than disrupt service.

With Halloween falling on a Thursday this year, the dinner buffet is likely to attract both leisure and business travellers looking for a post-work celebration. The timing, from early evening to late night, also caters to those with flexible schedules.

For agents and tour operators, highlighting such events in packages can add value for clients visiting Bengaluru in late October. It’s a simple way to differentiate offerings and tap into the growing demand for immersive local experiences.
