The Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) has strengthened its executive team with two key appointments, announced today (10 August). Monica Kent-Giles joins as marketing director, while Brooke Campbell takes on the newly created role of buyer engagement director. The moves come as preparations accelerate for the 2027 edition, scheduled for February in Melbourne.
Leadership expansion signals growth
Event director Silke Calder, who is entering her seventh year at the helm, said the appointments bring fresh perspectives that complement the team's existing expertise. “AIME continues to grow in both scale and impact, with more of the global community across Asia Pacific and beyond coming together each year to connect and do business,” Calder said. “Every year we set ourselves the challenge to raise the bar for the industry. Expanding our executive team with leaders of Monica and Brooke's calibre ensures we can further elevate the quality of our show floor connections and deliver an unrivalled experience for our global community.”
Calder noted that both new directors are already contributing through new ideas and specialised skills, reinforcing AIME's position as a leading business events platform in the region. The event has consistently drawn strong participation from across APAC and beyond, and the expanded leadership is expected to enhance its international appeal.
Monica Kent-Giles: marketing director
Kent-Giles brings extensive experience in brand management, communications, digital marketing, and events across APAC, EMEA, and the USA. Her career began at the Melbourne Convention Bureau, followed by senior marketing roles at News Corp in the UK and Australia, the Recruitment, Consulting and Staffing Association (RCSA), Melbourne Airport, and PMY Group. She has a track record of driving commercial growth and building brands across diverse industries.
Having attended AIME for many years, Kent-Giles said she has witnessed the event's impact on the business events sector. “Having attended AIME over many years, I’ve experienced firsthand the energy, incredible connections and value the show delivers to the business events industry,” she said. “Stepping into the role at such a pivotal moment is a privilege, and I look forward to further elevating its global presence.”
Brooke Campbell: buyer engagement director
Campbell brings more than two decades of experience across hotels, wholesale, corporate, events, convention centres, and destination bureaux. Her previous roles include positions at Experience Gold Coast, the New Zealand International Convention Centre, and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, which is the home of AIME. In her new role, she will focus on enhancing the buyer journey and ensuring the show continues to attract high-calibre planners from key global markets.
“AIME is already the benchmark for business events in our region, and I’ve been fortunate to witness this as a show exhibitor, but we are setting an even higher standard for 2027,” Campbell said. “The strength of AIME lies in how precisely we match exhibitors with a curated group of decision-makers ready to do business, and our focus is on enhancing this to make every meeting on the show floor as productive and impactful as possible.”
The appointments come at a time when the MICE sector is showing robust recovery and growth across Asia-Pacific. Recent data from New Zealand's MEETINGS 2026 and Singapore's record conference revenue underscore the region's momentum. AIME's expanded leadership aims to capitalise on this trend, ensuring the 2027 event delivers strong business outcomes for exhibitors and buyers alike.
With the new team in place, AIME is poised to build on its reputation as a premier platform for business events in the Asia-Pacific region. The 2027 edition will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, with a focus on fostering meaningful connections and driving industry growth.
