Australian luxury travellers will soon have access to two extended voyages aboard the Atlas Adventurer, billed as the world's first luxury expedition sailing yacht. The vessel, set to debut in November 2028, will be operated by Atlas Ocean Voyages, and Sydney-based Cruise Traveller has secured exclusive packages for the Asia and Africa itineraries.
Bookings made before 5 January 2027 qualify for an air credit of up to US$6,000 per twin suite, a complimentary pre-cruise hotel stay, and onboard amenities. The offer is designed to appeal to Australian travellers seeking extended, immersive expeditions with a high level of comfort.
Vessel specifications and onboard experience
At 210 metres, the Atlas Adventurer will accommodate 400 guests, combining the elegance of traditional sailing vessels with modern technology. The ship features electric propulsion and zero-emission capability, a significant step for expedition cruising. Onboard facilities include seven dining venues, five lounges, and dedicated expedition amenities such as a marina and a science lab.
“Atlas Adventurer will appeal to Australians seeking immersive exploration paired with refined elegance and grace,” said Joe O’Sullivan, Managing Director of Cruise Traveller. “We are proud to offer these exclusive voyages that blend adventure with luxury.”
Asia voyage: Bangkok to Singapore
The first voyage departs Bangkok on 23 December 2028 for a 40-night journey to Singapore. The itinerary calls at 22 ports across Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, offering a deep dive into Southeast Asia's cultural and natural diversity. Fares start at US$34,999 per person.
Africa voyage: Bali to Mombasa
The second expedition departs Bali on 10 February 2029 for a 42-night voyage to Mombasa, Kenya. The route includes Malaysia, Thailand, the Maldives, Seychelles, India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and Tanzania, covering some of the Indian Ocean's most sought-after destinations. Fares start at US$31,999 per person.
Both voyages include onboard beverages and gratuities, private transfers, unlimited Wi-Fi, and exclusive shore experiences. These inclusions are designed to provide a seamless, all-inclusive luxury expedition.
The announcement comes as the cruise industry continues to see strong demand for expedition and luxury travel. According to recent industry reports, travellers are increasingly seeking longer, more immersive itineraries, a trend that aligns with the Atlas Adventurer's offerings. Cruise Traveller, a specialist in small-ship and expedition cruising, has a track record of securing exclusive charters and packages for the Australian market. The company's partnership with Atlas Ocean Voyages marks a significant expansion of its luxury portfolio.
With the early-booking incentive, Cruise Traveller aims to generate strong initial demand for these voyages, which are expected to appeal to seasoned cruisers and luxury travellers alike. The air credit and hotel stay add significant value, making the packages competitive in the premium segment.
As the launch date approaches, more details on shore excursions and onboard programming are expected. For travel agents, these voyages represent a unique selling point for clients seeking extended, high-end expedition experiences. Bookings are open now, with the early-bird offer valid until 5 January 2027. Given the limited capacity of 400 guests per voyage, availability is expected to be tight.
