Booknordics.com, the Nordic travel-planning platform, has partnered with Norwegian travel creator Johan Haugsrud—known online as ExplorewithJohan—to launch a curated Signature Collection of Norway holidays. The collaboration combines Booknordics.com's logistics expertise with Haugsrud's on-the-ground storytelling to create structured, bookable itineraries that pre-connect accommodation, transport, and experiences.
The inaugural programme is a seven-day rail-and-cruise journey linking Oslo, Flåm, Bergen, Stavanger, and Kristiansand. Haugsrud has personally completed the route, demonstrating how international travellers can explore Norway's mountain railways, fjords, and coastal cities without a car or group tour. The itinerary includes six nights in four-star hotels, the Norway in a Nutshell® tour by Fjord Tours, and a series of cruises and rail segments.
Simplifying Complex Norwegian Journeys
Christer Olsen, CEO of Booknordics.com, explained the rationale behind the collection: "Travellers often know which Norwegian places they want to experience, but not how the connections fit together." The Signature Collection aims to solve that by offering a coherent holiday that integrates hotels, rail journeys, cruises, and local transfers. The first programme is designed for independent international travellers seeking to explore multiple Norwegian regions in one week.
Booknordics.com chose to partner with Haugsrud for his international reach and authentic storytelling. Jhoanna Mae Guevara, Marketing Lead at Booknordics.com, noted: "His storytelling feels fresh, personal and easy to connect with." Haugsrud's content, available on Instagram under ExplorewithJohan, provides first-hand visuals and narratives that complement the bookable product.
The complete journey is available through Booknordics.com. The partnership reflects a broader trend in the travel industry where destination management companies and online travel agencies collaborate with social-media creators to package authentic experiences. For travel professionals—including tour operators, travel agents, and cruise lines—this model offers a blueprint for converting influencer content into bookable inventory.
Norway's tourism sector has seen growing demand from international markets, particularly for rail-and-cruise combinations that showcase the country's dramatic landscapes. The Signature Collection's focus on independent travel aligns with post-pandemic preferences for flexible, self-guided itineraries. Haugsrud's route includes the Flåm Railway, one of the world's steepest standard-gauge railway lines, and a cruise through the Sognefjord. The itinerary also features coastal city stops in Bergen and Stavanger, known for their historic wharfs and oil-industry heritage. The final leg connects Kristiansand, a popular summer destination on the southern coast.
For cruise lines and tour operators, the partnership highlights opportunities to bundle rail and cruise segments into single bookings. Holland America Line, for instance, has added Flåm and Hellesylt to its 2027 Norway fjord sailings, as reported in our earlier article. The Booknordics.com collection offers a complementary land-based option for travellers who prefer independent exploration.
The Signature Collection is expected to expand with additional itineraries in the coming months. Booknordics.com plans to leverage Haugsrud's ongoing content creation to refine and promote new routes, targeting both European and long-haul markets such as North America and Asia.
