IndiGo, India's largest low-cost carrier, has expanded its ground mobility offering with the launch of 'Cabs with IndiGo', a dedicated airport transfer service designed to provide reliable connectivity to and from airports across Indian cities. Announced on 18 June 2026, the service is part of the airline's broader strategy to build a comprehensive travel ecosystem that extends beyond flight operations.

The service, powered by Mojoboxx, allows passengers to pre-book cabs with transparent pricing and zero surge fares. Key features include 100% confirmed rides, free cancellation until pick-up time, a reservation fee of just ₹49, and 30 minutes of free wait time to accommodate travel delays. Customers can book through the IndiGo website and mobile app.

Loyalty Integration and Ecosystem Play

A notable aspect of 'Cabs with IndiGo' is its integration with IndiGo BluChip, the airline's loyalty programme. Members earn 5 IndiGo BluChips for every ₹100 spent on the service, incentivising repeat use and deepening customer engagement. This move aligns with trends seen across the industry, where carriers such as Akasa Air are also expanding their ancillary services to enhance the passenger journey.

Neetan Chopra, Chief Digital and Information Officer at IndiGo, stated: “At IndiGo, our focus extends beyond operating flights—we are committed to building a seamless, end-to-end travel ecosystem that our customers can rely on. The introduction of Cabs with IndiGo strengthens this vision by ensuring that every stage of the journey, from home to the airport and onward to the final destination, is smooth, dependable, and stress-free.”

The service addresses common pain points such as uncertain availability and last-minute cancellations, which have historically plagued airport transfers in India. By offering a confirmed ride with transparent pricing, IndiGo aims to differentiate itself in a market where ride-hailing apps often face surge pricing and reliability issues.

For travel professionals, this development signals IndiGo's intent to capture a larger share of the passenger's travel spend, moving from a pure airline to a mobility provider. Similar strategies have been adopted by global carriers like Delta Air Lines and Emirates, which offer integrated ground transport options through their apps.

The launch also reflects the growing importance of ancillary revenue in the airline business. According to industry data, ancillary revenue from services like baggage, seat selection, and ground transport now accounts for a significant portion of low-cost carriers' income. IndiGo's move could pressure other Indian carriers, such as SpiceJet and Vistara, to enhance their own ground mobility offerings.

From a technology perspective, the partnership with Mojoboxx leverages digital booking and real-time tracking capabilities, which could be extended to other services in the future. The integration with IndiGo's existing digital platforms ensures a seamless user experience, a critical factor in customer retention.

For travel agents and tour operators, 'Cabs with IndiGo' offers a new ancillary product that can be bundled with flight bookings, potentially increasing commissionable revenue. The service is available across major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, with plans for expansion.

As the travel industry continues to recover and evolve, IndiGo's focus on end-to-end mobility solutions positions it well to capture the growing demand for seamless travel experiences. The service is expected to be particularly popular among business travellers and MICE groups, who value reliability and time efficiency.
