Orient Express Sailing Yachts and French luxury house Guerlain have unveiled a new wellness-focused transatlantic itinerary, Ocean Rebirth, aboard the sailing yacht Corinthian. The 14-night voyage departs Lisbon on 12 October 2026 and arrives in Bridgetown, Barbados, on 26 October, with a port call in Ponta Delgada in the Azores. A return sailing is scheduled from 13 to 27 March 2027.
The retreat is built around Guerlain's holistic well-being pillars: nutrition, movement, mindfulness, and sleep. Guests undergo a pre-journey assessment to create a personalised programme that adapts throughout the crossing. The culinary offer is overseen by Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno and nutrition expert Déborah Passuti, with dishes designed to support balance and vitality.
Guerlain wellness specialists, including Amélie Demange and Slav Marinov, will lead sessions in breathwork, meditation, and deep-tissue massage. The programme also incorporates Guerlain's LongeviSkin device, which combines advanced aesthetic technologies for skin regeneration.
The retreat can be booked in full or in two segments: Lisbon to Ponta Delgada (12–15 October) and Ponta Delgada to Bridgetown (15–26 October). This flexibility allows guests to tailor the experience to their schedules, a move that reflects a broader trend in luxury cruise wellness offerings.
Strategic partnership for luxury cruise wellness
The collaboration between Orient Express and Guerlain is a strategic move to differentiate the Corinthian in the competitive luxury cruise segment. By integrating a high-end beauty and wellness brand into the voyage, Orient Express aims to attract affluent travellers seeking transformative experiences at sea. Guerlain, part of the LVMH group, brings its expertise in skincare and holistic health to a maritime setting, a first for the brand.
This partnership follows other wellness-focused initiatives in the cruise industry, such as physician-led retreats at The Barai Hua Hin, though that is a land-based property. The Ocean Rebirth programme is notable for its length and the depth of its wellness integration, setting a new benchmark for transatlantic sailings.
For travel advisors, the two-stage booking option offers flexibility for clients who may not have two weeks to spare. The pre-journey assessment and personalised programming are key selling points, as is the involvement of Alléno, whose culinary reputation adds a gastronomic draw.
The Corinthian, part of Orient Express Sailing Yachts' fleet, is designed for luxury cruising with a focus on wellness and exploration. The ship's amenities and the partnership with Guerlain are expected to appeal to a demographic that values both relaxation and self-improvement.
Industry observers note that wellness tourism continues to grow, and cruise lines are increasingly partnering with lifestyle brands to create unique onboard experiences. The Ocean Rebirth retreat is a prime example of this trend, potentially influencing future itineraries from other luxury operators.

Bookings for the Ocean Rebirth retreat are now open, with the full voyage and both segments available. Orient Express and Guerlain aim to provide a unique setting for guests to reconnect with themselves, with the hope that the benefits extend well beyond the journey.
