Sabre Corporation has taken a significant step in operationalising agentic AI within the travel sector, deploying its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server with Linex Travel, the loyalty redemption marketplace formerly known as Ultra Group. The move comes as Linex Loyalty expands globally following its acquisition by private equity firm Linex Capital, which specialises in loyalty and rewards programmes.
The deployment marks one of the first commercial applications of Sabre's MCP architecture, which functions as an intelligent translation layer between AI agents and Sabre's travel platform. This allows AI-driven systems to handle intricate post-booking workflows — such as ticket reissues and dynamic exchanges — that traditionally required manual intervention by travel agents or airline staff.
Automating Complex Travel Workflows
Garry Wiseman, President of Product and Engineering at Sabre, described the deployment as a milestone in putting production-grade AI into mission-critical travel operations. “True innovation is about putting production-grade AI into the heart of mission-critical travel workflows,” Wiseman said. The MCP server effectively enables AI agents to interpret and execute tasks across Sabre's ecosystem, reducing friction in servicing and opening the door to more scalable automation.
Linex Travel manages rewards infrastructure for major banking clients across 12 countries in Latin America. By embedding Sabre's agentic AI into its loyalty redemption marketplace, the company aims to offer seamless user experiences for travellers redeeming points for flights, hotel stays, and other travel products. Andres Peláez, CEO of Linex Travel, emphasised the strategic importance of the partnership: “By becoming one of the first in the industry to commercially deploy Sabre's MCP architecture, we're able to flatten operational friction today whilst building a scalable and secure marketplace.”
The integration is particularly relevant for travel professionals in the loyalty and rewards space, where post-booking changes have long been a pain point. With agentic AI handling reissues and exchanges, airlines and travel agents can reduce manual workloads and improve response times for customers using loyalty points.
