Straiv, a hospitality technology provider, has introduced its latest hardware innovation: the Straiv Kiosk | PULSE. Developed in collaboration with German industrial hardware specialist Pyramid Computer, the modular indoor kiosk is designed to automate front-desk operations, from check-in and check-out to payment and key issuance. Pre-orders opened on 15 September 2026, with the first units expected to ship in early 2027.
The PULSE kiosk addresses two pressing challenges for hoteliers: persistent staff shortages and rising operational costs. By handling routine administrative tasks, the kiosk frees front-desk teams to focus on higher-value activities such as personalised guest interactions and upselling. According to Straiv, the solution is a direct response to a market that is increasingly demanding reliable automation.

Manufactured by Pyramid Computer, the kiosk is engineered for durability and operational reliability. It features a low-maintenance RFID card dispenser, a high-performance passport scanner, and motion sensors that activate the interface when a guest approaches. The hardware is designed to withstand the rigours of a busy hotel lobby, with flexible installation options that allow for wall mounting or freestanding placement.
Privacy and accessibility were also key considerations. The kiosk includes privacy films to shield guest data from onlookers and a physical keypad for guests who prefer tactile input over touchscreens. This combination of security and ease of use is intended to make the kiosk suitable for a wide range of properties, from boutique hotels to large chains.
Straiv is showcasing the PULSE at the IHM trade fair in Munich on 16 and 17 September 2026. To encourage early adoption, the company is offering a 10% discount on hardware costs for pre-orders placed by 31 October 2026. This promotional period aligns with the company’s broader push to expand its hardware portfolio.
Expanding the hardware line
Looking ahead, Straiv plans to introduce additional kiosk models, including a full-outdoor solution expected in Q1 2027. This outdoor variant would cater to hotels with drive-up check-in lanes, resort entrances, or other exterior locations where a weatherproof kiosk is required. The company’s roadmap suggests a growing emphasis on hardware as a complement to its cloud-based software.
