The Syria Travel Show (STS) 2026, scheduled for 28–30 September at Al Moutanbi Hall, Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus, is positioning itself as a key platform for travel professionals eyeing the country's nascent tourism recovery. Organised by Mangusteen Events and Exhibitions alongside SO Media, and held under the patronage of the Syrian Ministry of Tourism, the event aims to connect international stakeholders with Syria's evolving travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors.

Syria's tourism industry has posted striking growth figures in the first half of 2026. Total visitor arrivals reached 3.52 million, more than double the number recorded in the same period of 2025. International arrivals surged 448%, Arab visitor numbers rose 107%, and Syrian expatriate arrivals increased 75%. These statistics underscore a growing confidence in Syria as a viable destination, even as the country continues to rebuild its infrastructure and international reputation.

H.E. Mazen Al-Salhani, Syria's Minister of Tourism, commented: "Syria's tourism sector is entering a new phase, underpinned by growing regional and international confidence, rising visitor demand and a clear commitment to creating an investment-friendly environment."

What the show offers travel trade professionals

STS 2026 will feature a travel trade exhibition, keynote addresses, panel discussions, and structured B2B matchmaking sessions. Organisers expect more than 30 exhibitors, over 20 speakers, and upwards of 5,000 attendees. The conference agenda will address policy frameworks, investment incentives, and public-private partnerships — all critical to rebuilding Syria's tourism ecosystem.

For hoteliers and developers, the event presents opportunities in hotel and resort construction, tourism real estate, and supporting infrastructure. Airlines, travel agencies, and technology providers will also find a dedicated focus on reconnecting Syria with global distribution systems and booking platforms. The show aims to facilitate partnerships that could eventually see major carriers like Emirates, Qatar Airways, or Turkish Airlines resume or expand services to Damascus International Airport.

Tour operators and destination management companies may find particular value in the matchmaking sessions, which are designed to link international buyers with local suppliers. The event also targets MICE organisers, as Syria seeks to attract conference and incentive travel groups once security conditions stabilise further.

Registration is open to trade visitors, investors, and tourism professionals. Exhibition and sponsorship packages are available. For further details, visit the event's official website.
