Chinese automaker OMODA & JAECOO has introduced its AiMOGA humanoid robots at a major international sporting event in the UAE, signaling a broader push into AI-powered hospitality and tourism services. The robots, named Mornine and Argos, are designed to assist with multilingual hosting, venue guidance, and operational support, showcasing the potential for intelligent robotics in luxury hotels, airports, and entertainment venues across the region.

Robots in Action: Mornine and Argos

Mornine, the humanoid robot, leverages AI-powered speech recognition to communicate in 11 languages, enabling seamless interaction with international guests. This capability is particularly relevant for travel industry professionals managing diverse clientele at events, airports, or hotel lobbies. Argos, meanwhile, features autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance, making it suitable for assisting travelers with mobility challenges or guiding visitors through large venues.

The deployment at the sporting event underscores a growing trend of robotics integration in the travel and hospitality sectors. Similar initiatives have been seen in other markets, such as Leylaty Hospitality's new catering hub in Riyadh, which focuses on large-scale event support. OMODA & JAECOO's robots could complement such facilities by providing on-the-ground guest assistance.

Valet Parking Driver Technology

Beyond robotics, OMODA & JAECOO plans to launch its Valet Parking Driver (VPD) technology, also called Super Intelligent Parking (SIP), in the UAE. This system allows vehicles to autonomously find parking spaces, park themselves, and return to the driver via remote commands. For travel industry stakeholders, this aligns with smart city initiatives in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, potentially easing congestion at airports, hotels, and event venues.

The technology could be particularly beneficial for MICE events, where large numbers of attendees require efficient parking solutions. Venues like the NZICC in New Zealand or the AYANA Bali's new grand ballroom are examples of how smart infrastructure is becoming a priority for event organizers.

Expanding Presence in the UAE

OMODA & JAECOO has already integrated AiMOGA robots into its global showrooms, offering intelligent interaction and multilingual support. The brand's CEO, Shawn Xu, stated, "Artificial intelligence, robotics, and intelligent mobility technologies represent the future of connected living." With over 5,000 vehicle sales in the UAE, the company is expanding its footprint in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and beyond, offering models like the OMODA C5 and JAECOO J8 SHS.

This expansion comes as the UAE positions itself as a hub for smart tourism and events. The introduction of AI robots at events mirrors broader industry trends, such as Thailand's TCEB launching MaxiMICE to enhance business events through technology. For travel professionals, OMODA & JAECOO's initiatives highlight the growing intersection of automotive innovation and hospitality services.

Implications for Travel Industry

The use of humanoid robots in hospitality settings is not new, but OMODA & JAECOO's entry into this space with a focus on multilingual support and autonomous navigation offers a practical solution for venues catering to international travelers. Hotels, airports, and event organizers in the UAE could leverage these robots to improve guest experiences, reduce staff workload, and provide consistent service across multiple languages.

As the travel industry increasingly adopts AI and robotics, partnerships between automakers and hospitality providers may become more common. OMODA & JAECOO's integration of robots into showrooms and events suggests a model where technology companies collaborate with travel stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
