AIA HYROX Singapore is set to return to Singapore Expo from 26 to 29 November 2026, marking the city-state's first four-day HYROX race weekend. The expanded format will welcome more than 18,500 competitors representing 92 nationalities, positioning the event as one of the largest HYROX gatherings in Southeast Asia.
The 2026 edition will also debut the AIA HYROX Youngstars Singapore, a dedicated category for athletes aged eight to 15, aimed at nurturing youth participation in the rapidly growing fitness racing discipline. This addition aligns with broader efforts to broaden the sport's demographic appeal across the region.
Qualifying pathway to the PUMA HYROX World Championships
The Singapore race will serve as a qualifying event for the PUMA HYROX World Championships 2027, scheduled to take place in Hong Kong in June 2027. This connection provides a clear competitive incentive for participants, reinforcing HYROX's strategy of building a structured global competition circuit.
Notably, the 2026 Singapore event will feature 32 adaptive racers, a significant increase from just five in previous editions. This growth underscores HYROX's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in endurance sports. Additionally, more than 10,000 participants will be first-time HYROX competitors, reflecting the sport's surging popularity in the Asia-Pacific market.
William Petty, Regional Events Manager for S.E.A. at HYROX APAC, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion. "We're excited to host our first-ever four-day race to Singapore, reflecting the continued growth of HYROX across the nation," he said.
Beyond the race: the HYROX Social Hub
Beyond the competitive elements, the event will feature the HYROX Social Hub, a festival-style area offering food, entertainment, and recovery facilities for athletes and spectators alike. This addition aims to transform the race weekend into a broader lifestyle experience, appealing to a wider audience beyond hardcore fitness enthusiasts.
Wong Sze Keed, CEO of AIA Singapore, highlighted the strategic importance of the Youngstars division. "By giving youths aged 8 to 15 an inclusive platform to challenge themselves, build resilience, and discover the joy of fitness, we are fostering a lifelong love for wellness," she said.
The Singapore event is part of HYROX's broader expansion across the Asia-Pacific region, which has seen the sport gain traction in key markets such as Australia, Japan, and now Singapore. The four-day format is expected to attract significant international participation, boosting local tourism and hospitality sectors during the late November period.
For travel professionals, the event represents a notable MICE and sports tourism opportunity. Singapore's robust infrastructure, including the Singapore Expo's extensive convention and exhibition facilities, makes it an ideal host for such large-scale sporting events. The influx of international competitors and spectators is likely to drive demand for accommodation, dining, and ancillary services, benefiting hotels, tour operators, and local businesses.
As HYROX continues to grow its footprint, events like this underscore the intersection of fitness, travel, and destination marketing. The collaboration between Visa and the Singapore Tourism Board to boost high-value travel further highlights the city's appeal as a premier events destination. Similarly, Qatar's packed 2026-27 events calendar demonstrates the regional competition for major sporting and cultural events.
With the 2026 edition set to be the largest yet, AIA HYROX Singapore is poised to solidify its position as a cornerstone of the global HYROX circuit, offering athletes and spectators alike a compelling reason to visit Singapore.
