England's Seafood FEAST is set to return to the English Riviera from 21 September to 2 October, offering travel professionals a fresh opportunity to promote a culinary destination that draws on the region's rich maritime heritage. The festival, now a fixture in South Devon's food calendar, will see participating venues across Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham craft exclusive menus highlighting locally sourced seafood.

Brixham Fish Market, renowned for its diversity of over 50 species of fresh fish and seafood, will supply local eateries, ensuring visitors experience the freshest catch. The programme includes harbourside dining, chef-led tasting menus, and seafood safaris, all designed to showcase the area's hospitality and coastal appeal.

Michelin-starred chef Simon Hulstone's restaurant, The Elephant, is among the notable participants, offering guests a taste of one of the UK's premier seafood destinations. Kelly Widley, the festival's programme curator, emphasised the event's role in supporting local businesses and enhancing the region's reputation as England's Seafood Coast. "Every booking made during the FEAST supports local businesses and helps celebrate an industry that continues to shape our communities for generations to come," she stated.

Carolyn Custerson, CEO of the English Riviera BID Company, highlighted the festival's broad appeal. "Whether you're looking for fine dining overlooking the coast, a relaxed seafood platter on the harbourside, traditional fish and chips, or something completely different, there's something to suit every taste and every budget," she said.

What this means for travel professionals

For tour operators and travel agents, the festival provides a ready-made hook for packages targeting food-focused travellers. The English Riviera's coastal setting, combined with the quality of its seafood, positions it as a strong alternative to better-known European seafood destinations. The event also aligns with broader trends in culinary tourism, where travellers increasingly seek authentic, locally sourced experiences.

Hoteliers and hospitality operators in the region stand to benefit from increased footfall during the two-week period. The festival's emphasis on local sourcing and chef-led events offers a clear differentiator for properties looking to attract discerning diners. For cruise lines, the proximity of Torquay and Brixham to popular South Devon ports could present shore excursion opportunities, particularly for lines that call at nearby ports such as Plymouth or Falmouth.

Travel technology vendors may also find opportunities to partner with the festival's organisers to enhance booking systems, digital marketing, or data analytics for participating venues. The event's growing digital footprint—including its official website and social media channels—offers a testbed for targeted promotions and real-time inventory management.

With new events and venues being added, the festival promises an unforgettable seafood adventure for all attendees. For more information, visit the English Riviera's official website.
